Nah they're handled great. Those faces are taken from very quick cuts and not lingering scenes.

Haha, fair enough. I honestly can't remember if I've ever seen one in person or not. I'll be on the lookout so I can more closely scrutinize and confirm the suckitude of plastic auras!!

I think 18 and even trunks & goten are plenty capable enough, but I feel like they have already made an excuse for them not to fight by leaving 18 out of the Frieza battle and Vegeta explicitly excluding the kids. I felt like the Frieza stuff was a pretty good sign we will never see 18 in a real fighting role again, unfortunately.

Well the Buu arc marked alot of significant changes in Vegeta's character and even Super so far has shown us deep down he's a lot more of an Earthling husband and father than he was before so out of everything odd Super has shown us I think Vegeta not wanting children to be slaughtered at the hands of Frieza makes a lot of sense.

Vegeta seemed to be annoyed at Trunks' laziness. What's the point of will to fight if he doesn't actually put effort to become stronger? Vegeta accuses them of planning to fight using fusion and tells them that it's forbidden by the tournament rules, and so they must become strong enough on their own, but when he says that Trunks immediately gets disappointed and gives up on the matter. I saw that scene as basically setting up the End of Z, where it was said that Trunks and Goten were slacking off from their training.
