The series will end after they fight the final boss in Universe 13.

imagine if it's just an alt designed version of

so, this was originally rumored to be 100 episodes right?

this slow set up to bigger things, the popularity, I can't imagine this going for less than the original DBZ run. Toei is throwing almost nothing into the animation budget and is likely going to make bank on everything about it, I imagine they will milk it for as long as they can.

I mean with so many universes to play in I can't imagine we will only get some adventures in universe 6. Watch the super ball's wish to be something along the I wish for free travel between all of the universes.

though in DB style it will likely be
"I wish for a never ending supply of Ramen."

super needs to go for 500 episodes at least

I do wonder how big of a story Toriyama has written. I doubt it's going to be as DBZ length.

to be fair isn't he mostly just doing an outline and everyone else is taking care of it?

i mean he could merely outline a bunch of arcs and it could go one for a long long time.

I mean DBZ would basically be.

Goku is from space, his brother shows up and ultimately goku dies and goes off to train in the next life.
His brother summoned more of goku's race and thus he has to return in a year stronger than ever to protect the world.
During the fight with his brother we learn the demon king is also an alien and thus when he dies they need new dragon balls so they go to space.
The enemy that goku fought will also be there to add a familiar face.
Ultimately they will face the power rangers before facing the big bad of the universe.
The familier enemy will become an unlikely ally but ultimately goku needs to show up to save them all.
since I am tired of inking black hair he transforms before defeating the bad guy.
The former enemy actually ends up having a son and we learn this by him coming back to beat up mecha ultimate bad guy.
I watched a movie about androids thus the mecha thing and thus I will make the next arc about big bad androids.
My editor doesn't feel the androids are scary enough so I will make a monster android that can eat them to get more powerful.
after eating them both I will do a tournament.
I will pass the torch to goku's son in this.
then I will make him goofy.
realize I screwed up.
and bring back goku for one last big bad enemy before ending it on a happy note.

I mean you don't need a ton of details to potentially get dragon ball going as long as you have the right other writers. GT clearly didn't have the correct writers, but he could just do an outline and make a bunch of enemies with some notes.

that all being said who knows how long super will go, but i could easily see it going longer than dbz given how much money it will print them.

I thought the last episode made it pretty clear the Monaka was a nobody. Whis teases Beerus over lying about him, Monaka's rendered unconscious by seeing what he's up against.

I'm just wondering what the punchline is. Is he the descendant of someone Beerus fought hundreds of years ago?

The anime and manga have many similarities, sometimes almost word-for-word, which seems to indicate that Toriyama's outline might be more detailed than we think, but honestly we can't be sure and we might never get a proper answer.

They're keeping it vague because GT was criticized for not having enough Toriyama involvement.

Also there's definitely something fishy going on with Monaka... I'm not sure how people can think otherwise. Beerus panicking over Goku trying to mess with Monaka, Whis constantly poking at the situation to make it worse, like he knows something's going on and finds it amusing... There's no way he's legit.

What was the outcome of this anyway? The speed subs made it out like Whis knew he was a fraud, or was that just a shitty translation?

Not this shit again. The problem with Super is that it has a very tight schedule, it has nothing to do with budget, in fact they pay for a lot of supervisors on Super which is pretty expensive. Toei also doesn't make a lot of money, Bandai makes most of the money regarding the Dragon Ball IP.

Now that Naruto's over, have Bandai Namco move CC2 onto the DBZ(Super) franchise pls with the Gundam EXVS team doing the game mechanics. Then we can get the animation we deserve. ;)

This.

I feel Dimps was on to something mechanically speaking. A tighter netcode, a bit more balance, and a better graphical engine would make for an even greater game next time around.

Yep, tweak some of the models, change the shading to be more traditional cel shading and make the combat less loosy goosy and we could have something really special.

Anyways, in other news.
Goku on a Segway.

I take it you missed the announcement where Boruto is a thing that will be coming out soon and likely will become an anime next year.

The best part is the creator of naruto is only supervising.

then they really need to talk to Madhouse (hunter x hunter 2011), Oriental Light and Magic (pokemon x,y & Z), TMS Entertainment (detective conan), or Sunrise (gintama, inuyasha) on how to make the animation not look like it was done by the B team on a low budget most of the time :P

heck even Studio Pierrot wouldn't be that horrible as naruto constantly looked better than super has.

though super has been looking better recently so they likely upped their game some.

I'd rather Dimps polish what they've started with Xenoverse.

Bleh, great fanservicey game but mechanically it could be sooooo much better and simpler. Fighting felt redundant pretty quickly.

Nah, I know about that. Would like CC2 to move on though considering they finished before the anime did.

Again, it's the schedule and the fact that Toei had too much on their plate. They just ended two shows and over the past two weeks some of the talent of those shows has started to leak into Super.

Dude he does that pose so fast in battle of gods. I never took the time to pause it on that frame. You can see him move his arms back to launch something but you can't see those hands that quick, unless you're looking for it

I've concluded that the only reason to ever bother watching OG DBZ anime for me is for Daisuke Gori as Mr. Satan.
But oh lord what a slog watching it would be...

My guess is that the GOAT trash talks Cabbage to make him mad on purpose to make him unlock SSJ. Afterwards he turns SSB and wins easily, giving Cabbage a training goal. After the tourney they go to planet Salad and Vegeta is crowned king.

Vegeta had the best fight in the manga easily. And then he was by far the best character in Frieza's saga.

Indeed. Goku vs Vegeta is probably my favorite fight in all of manga/anime. Shit is brilliant. It has a great mix of physical martial arts and ki based attacks, a balance that gets kinda fucked after the Saiyan Saga admittedly lol.

Galick Gun Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Yesssss.

3 things frustrate me

holding back power - just go super saiyan god and wipe out universe 6 team, and the arc moves to the next baddie (like the world martial arts with babidi in the background)

I just madly want to know whats going on with Monaka. It has to be unexpected, so it wont be the obvious (hes weak, hes uncontrollably strong). Its driving me crazy to find out nothing week on week.

For the sake of story, Vegeta will probably lose to Cabba who looks like he's fighting a lot untransformed at first, maybe vegeta brings out his SS. But Vegeta SHOULD NOT LOSE, as a super saiyan god. SSG should be the absolute ultimate, just behind beerus, whis and vados, and quite close to champa because he's so fat.

I think Hit will be a match for SSG. He's been hyped to no end this whole tournament.

What if Hit is actually an undercover idol from Universe 6 and his name actually refers to them being a Hit with audience. He gets on the battlefield and starts belting out a Hatsune Miku song or something.
