That's was a really fun episode! The next one seems super hype too. Do we know how many episodes this next fight will take?

Just finished watching the new episode! So Cabba CAN
transform
? Did he lie? I think not.

I saw a cool fan theory on why Vegeta would be "going back to the way he used to be" (in reference to something Vegeta does to Cabba in the next episode):

Nah, it's obvious. He's pulling a, Goku teaches Uub, scenario. Make him mad, pull out his latent power, still beat his ass down. But instead of taking this kid as a student, he's probably hoping that this kid will at least be able to protect the Saiyan race and teach others how to ascend. So that what happened in Vegeta's Universe, will not repeat itself.

I think this makes sense. Frost is still alive in Cabba's universe, so who knows what else is still out there. And I am guessing vegeta says some mean things to Cabba to get him to go SSJ.

Faulconer sucks. I feel like I post that all the time in this thread.

Anyways I thought that Shuki Levi's soundtrack was far superior....

I like Levy's a lot more, but no need to call Faulconer a hack. Funi's music is great too, they're just way too different to compare.

PS: Not really a fair comparison considering that the original Funi dub never did this scene, the scene with Faulconer's music is fan made..

First comment on the video nails it. This comparison is bunk, that's not an official scene with the proper Faulconer music chosen.

It's all a matter of taste. It's true that the Faulconer soundtrack is arguably cheesy, but it fits the tensions in the show really well.

Watched with subs, glorious to see Final Flash again.

Man that was a great fight, Magetta so hype

Dude another episode where we get to see how badass Hit is, catching that broken barrier piece like it aint shit

You just know he's gonna be a problem. He has that look like he is all mighty and shit. He has the whole "I only open my eyes when something interesting happens" look.

While I am nostalgic for those soundtracks, I don't think it really suits this scene as the stakes just aren't high enough for it, it just doesn't seem appropriate.

Although I grew to like and appreciate the Funi dub over time, they never reached the heights of the Saiyan Saga Ocean dub. Goku, Vegeta - everybody was perfectly acted. The Funi actors felt like poor imitations when the transition first happened

I also like Faulcolner but the Saiyan saga had great music that wasn't so bombastic

And the animation quality is so good compared to what we get now

While I strongly disagree that Faulconer sucks, I really liked Shuki Levi's themes and the Ocean Dub for the early saga's. That video you linked is still the hypest thing I've ever seen in any anime, and the music and voices contribute to it. "THIS PLANET IS HISTORY!!!"

It might be just imagination, but when that broken barrier debris barely missed Monaka and he reacted without moving a muscle,
I could swear I heard something roaring...like a real loud rhythmic beat...like a Monaka engine...

Man I can't tell if the strong implication that Monaka is a fraud is a fake out our not.

I'm still going with Monaka beating a tired Hit without showing his power, a good old fashioned AT troll. If it wasn't for the fact Goku is being let back in I would've said Monaka jobs to Hit.

I want Monaka to be super strong with no transformation but I think what's going to happen is Goku is on the verge of beating Hit but throws the match so he gets a chance to see Monaka who he sure can beat Hit if he can, but it turns out Monaka is weak and loses in one hit.

I'm still thinking that Monaka is a complete beast. He needs to take Hit down in a single blow, from his nipples of course.

Lol, if Monaka is like One Punch Man's King I'll laugh my ass off.

Goku still fights before Monaka.

Which I assume means that Cabba beats Vegeta somehow? It'd be weird if Hit faces Vegeta, Goku and then Monaka. But then again, Frost did already face three U7 guys.

I've been mostly wrong in all the tourney predictions tbh and so have been most people here lol.

I assume Monaka is really strong, but not in a traditional way. Not even like Botamo.

I'm floating a theory with my partner that Monaka is really a doll like creature, and that he's just a conduit for Beerus.

we already know cabba loses.

Monaka is a total fake. He started crying when Goku hit him, haha. And then you have Whis's comments in the episode before last and the fact that he couldn't even react to the flying shrapnel.

There's obviously another reason why Beerus brought him along, and it's not because of his strength.

Speaking of putting different music to a Super scene... Someone placed the Kikuchi bgm used for the original Final Flash to Super's version.

Instantly makes this 10 times better. Now it feels like I'm watching Dragon Ball Z, not Generic Anime/Cartoon #1476.

The music they used during his Galick gun was especially poor(ly chosen).

Monaka has been unconscious the whole time. That's why Beerus wasn't letting Goku speak with him.
Interestingly enough, the Universe 6 bench mirrors that situation, with Frost being either unconscious or dead (?) from Hit's attack.

Why would Beerus pick Monaka if he was a fraud? I mean, he might flop, but I do believe he is capable of incredible things. What I could see happen is that his power is unreliable and risky to use, which would explain why Whis seemed hesitant to pick him in an earlier episode.

I wasn't sure why Beerus would drag along Monaka either if he was just a fraud, but someone else pointed out that maybe it's to incentive Goku into getting stronger? So he doesn't think he's the strongest non-god fighter in the universe.

Pretty obviously an incentive for Goku to improve further and giving Vegeta additional impulse along with that. There's not really much reason to assume there would be some random person who is stronger than god energy if Beerus has previously already said that "there is nobody stronger than the god of destruction in this universe". Which, of course, also suggested that other universes do have stronger entities in them than the relevant god.
Wouldn't be the first time the 'almighty' is made hilariously insignificant.

Animation was good in this episode btw, aside from one unflattering shot of the U6 bench. Magetta was a good opponent, that hardened lava move was unexpected but made complete sense. Too bad they gave Vegeta the victory anyway, because Magetta worked for it. I hope we'll see more DB-like fights like this in this show. This is getting pretty hype. :>
