That's a fair point, but we have never had a constant mainstay character outside of Bulma that actively contributed to to the story. It just feels like every time there is a chance it's just tossed aside (Chichi, Videl, 18). They are always just written in a very specific way. I don't really know much about Vados. So I can't really comment on her.
Now that you mention all those chracters I guess I'm still bitter about everything remaining the same after all these years. I thought the whole point of the God Ki introduction was to have a way for other characters to catch up and become relevant. I wonder if that was every a thought that crossed Toriyama's mind.

The only thing God Ki did was let Vegeta have a shortcut to catch up to Goku.
For some reason I remember it being longer than 5 episodes. Guess it's back on then!
Has the animation in this show gotten better? I stopped watching a while ago when Vegeta fought Beerus st Bulma's ship. While the direction was awesome (Vegeta charging that Galick Gun behind the cloud of smoke, making that sick vortex he appeared in, got damn), it just kept looking bad to me.
It's had its ups and downs... the most recent episode was decently solid, though it didn't have a lot of action. The one before that had some pretty good animation with Vegeta vs. Freeza but pretty much all of Goku vs. Freeza was really poorly done.

Planet Plant is were those gooby purple things are native too... you know those things that were in the Bardock Time travelling movie but we also know that a human like race known as Tuffles lived on that planet as well.
The Tuffles were still there when the Saiyans lived on that planet but were later wiped out in a War... but those Plant creatures were not present at that time even though the their healing liquid is used by the Freeza army till this day...
So did the Tuffles kill off the Plant people before the Saiyans arrived?
Since we now know that the Saiyans oringal planet was planet Salad (lol hence the veggie names)
Also Vegeta says that the clothes that the kid is wearing is the Saiyan original garb before joining the Freeza army but wasn't their old clothes just fur clothes and rope?

Regardless the Saiyans in Uni 6 made it... they're likely a advance well mannered civilization lol

I will definitely keep watching it, but at this point I may just wait for the dub. Dragonball is one of the few animes I actually prefer the dub for.
But man it's a real shame about the animation, wish it was consistent. I'm not usually too picky about that kind of stuff and when it first came out and people were saying it looked way worse than DBZ I figured it was being blown out of proportion. But...it really does. How did that happen. If you're going to get one anime right, fucking make it Dragonball.

There were a few sentences about it but not much. They could have just shown a cool scene with Goku and Vegeta unlocking it and hyping it up a bit. It really is a no brainer.

Otherworld Tournament was pretty awesome, yeah. Also when Goku lets it on that he's figured out how to attain Super Saiyan 2.
Also Pikkon just rocks Cell in Hell (heh)

And Pikkon caught Cell off guard.
Pikkon is around Goku level of strength at that time. And Cell is way stonger then Goku.
That kick move only worked because it surprised Cell.
It probably didn't even do any damage apart from shocking him and knocking him back.
Like how in their fight Goku got in a few good hits despite Cell being stronger.

Those small purple things from Episode of Bardock are just Toriyama's new design for the Tuffles/Tsufurujin. Similarly,
with Kaba's outfit, he's just creating a different design for the Saiyans before stealing the Tuffles' tech.
The show usually never showed first transformation scenes for forms obtained with training. The only exception was Gohan's first SSJ transformation, and maybe Vegeta's, but that was an anime-only scene. We did get that scene where when they stopped their ki leakage for a moment and then punched each other a bunch of blue sparks flew around.

You genuinely thought Gohan wouldn't train again even though he unleashed ki so powerful that Goku could sense it all the way from Beerus' planet. Goku couldn't even sense Frieza's ki. Then Gohan proceeds to lament at the fact that he allowed Piccolo to die for him and if he had kept up with his training, it wouldn't have happened.
It was so obvious that he'd train again. You're just as bad as Persona-Gaf.
