Dragon Ball Super |OT2| June 12: Judgment Day

I have been rewatching the original Dragon Ball and seems like Kid Goku does the eye expression almost as much as he does in Super.

The real reason Trunks is coming back

Lol yeah Android phones are too advanced, he should use a Cell phone.

...Wait.

Cell can't absorb anyone but 17&18. Buu can absorb Beerus.

Much like with most of this show, if a fighter is powerful enough, they can often avoid special powers.

Although it's not Canon, Goku manages to climb out of Cell's body/tail from absorption. Largely just being on such a stronger level than Cell.

Someone hasn't watched History of Trunks.
This movie is literally the best DB has ever been. It works together with the Android Arc, though.

Well Cell's base power was far weaker than 17's. He had to absorb millions of people to be powerful enough.

In theory he could have solar flared him and absorbed him despite being weaker.

Good figures are always way too expensive.

By the way, Yamamuro has been ignoring entirely Toriyama's take on existing characters, I really hope he fucking listens for Trunks :/ .

I love the new Trunks hair, and I got a feeling Yamamuro is gonna give us crappy Xenoverse Trunks hair instead.

Speaking of collectible figures, this is still my personal favorite:

The Banpresto Scultures series in general is pretty great (as seen above and by the sword wielding Trunks figure that has been shown), and the figures are priced reasonably (~30€).

The RoF series is awesome as well:

I hope they will add at least some of the U6 fighters in the near future.

And for all you Cell fans out there, the Dramatic Showcase figure recently released looks quite nice and is affordable (~25-30€).

What if there's a timeskip before Future Trunks comes back and he fuses with himself?

I need to get in on Dragon Ball figures. Gotta do some research. I'd like to buy multiple from the same series/company so they look good together.

like skyward beam said the banpresto ones are usually less expensive and easier to come by, they look pretty good. they have a lot of characters in their lines. i think i plan to get the dramatic showcase ginyu force ones. you can get a the pair of cell and gohan on eBay for $50.

there is also the megahouse "dimension of dragon ball" figure which are kind of pricey but the quality is good. you might have to hunt for some of those

my personal favorite are the sh figuarts ones because of the quality, pose-ability, packaging and accessories (although there are less than there use to be.) some figures are really hard to find though, and you basically have to preorder them if you want to get them at a reasonable price.

there's other lines but those are the popular ones for your consideration

post pictures when you get them!

For that moment that Cell absorbed Goku (after Goku learned SS4) he became so unbelievably strong. Too bad that only lasts for a few seconds.

Yeah...thats dumb...

Is it really that different than when Goku and Vegeta invade Buu's body and break everyone out?

Dragonball has been like this for a long time. Yakon can suck energy but not TOO much (there was a similar example in original DB and DBZ movies). Or even more recently
with Hit being able to "time skip" but if Goku is strong enough he can surpass it (though maybe this is just translation error)

It's gone on like that since forever.

Mercenary Tao was not affected by General Blue's paralyzing gaze.
Majin Vegeta being too strong willed to be controlled by Babidi
(Non-canon) I doubt the Para Para bros would be able to make an angry SSJ4 Goku Dance

It is ridiculously dumb.

Why didn't Cell just do that to Gohan or any of the Z-warriors in his perfect form? In DBZ, he could only use that technique on 17/18. Why can he now use that on anyone?

With Buu for example when something similar happened (and it made a lot more sense with Buu as he used that technique on everyone), there was a lot more tension because of how similarly matched the characters were. With Cell, there is absolutely no tension at all. We all know at that point that Goku is far stronger than Cell and Frieza at his base form. Why does the viewer care if Cell absorbs Goku? It's terribly executed fan service which is par for the course with GT.

Not much different at all but aye it's GT so..

Cell didn't do that to Gohan or any of the other Z-fighters because he wanted a challenge, not to just absorb them. We've seen Cell drink others and grow stronger through it. Heck, he attempted to drink Vegeta while fighting him in his Semi-Perfect state.

I think he was talking about Cell absorbing people by swallowing them whole. He only did that to 17 and 18 in order to complete his perfect form - every other time he just tried to sting his opponents to drain them. That gives the impression that the two different ways he can use his tail seem to exist for different purposes.

He didn't have the tail in his perfect form. Or at least a non-canonical from what I recall.

He didn't do that to the Z-warriors because he simply couldn't. That method of absorption was exclusive to Android 17/18 because it allowed him to evolve his biology into his perfect form.

He has to "drink" everything else for energy and I don't think that was remotely possible considering the size of his tail in his perfect form. Absorbing energy from others very much seemed like a technique that was restricted to his imperfect and semi-perfect form because he needed the strength to overcome Android 17/18. He was initially weaker than them. He would never need that technique in his final form because he is perfect.

People will get upset when you criticise GT but it just makes an absolute mockery of the story and design of characters with its embarrassingly bad execution.

Well it was a very small tail. It was able to produce Cell Jrs but it was never used for absorption through piercing or the method shown in GT from what I can remember.

Dub Goku and Japanese Goku should have a death battle.
