Don't try to make sense of filler.
If it didn't even hurt Cell, then cell would have gotten back up right away. But he didn't.
There's really no need to rationalize filler content like this. It was just a moment to show Pikkon's strength and speed.

It's silly because Gohan was fighting alongside the other Z fighters since age 4 yet Goku tells Goten and Trunks to leave the Freeza fight because it's dangerous? OK.

Yeah for sure I felt this, I mean yeah I was hoping being would rush past RoF but I kiiinda mayyybe possibly thought they'd actually expand on that (among other things)... but nope
But hey I guess "oh look I got a new power" isn't exactly new, hello Super Saiyan 3 (and Super Saiyan 2 Goku / Vegetas)
It's kind of annoying after how they used to make such a big deal out of these transformations needing a huge event of anger and everyone's SSJ1 getting a big scene for it - SSJ1 Goku, Vegeta, Future Trunks, Gohan, and then how Gohan could only SSJ2 after the trauma with Cell.... but now it's just like oh hey train a bunch then you got a new form wheee
You mean the Goku that asked Gohan to leave when he fought Vegeta because it was too dangerous, and asked him to leave when he was fighting Freeza because it was too dangerous, asked Goten and Trunks to leave because it's dangerous. Hum, outrageous.
It's not like having 4 years old Gohan fighting was a decision Goku ever made ... The only time he sent Gohan to fight was Cell, and that's because he KNEW he would win and they had no one else.

I don't see how travelling to another planet was any dangerous at the time, since they had virtually NO WAY to know about Freezer. None. They just thought they were going to Kami's homeworld, they sent Bulma too... Krilin was supposedly more than enough to protect them, and Gohan was also quite powerful. Plus Vegeta was calling himself strongest of the universe, once again, they couldn't have possibly known. And pretty sure Goku couldn't do much in his condition.
Goku healed Cell because he felt both Cell and Gohan's power. He didn't expect Gohan to hold back. He regretted his decision, he SAID THAT HIMSELF.
Piccolo gave him a lecture about it and Goku realized his mistake. He wouldn't do it again.
So "yes ?" , yes.
And now you wonder why he asks Goten and Trunks, whose sole action was to toy with Majin Buu and get absorbed like morons, are asked to leave. Ok then.

Except? Where was it stated goku told them to stay home? I suppose its kagari fault fr saying goku but as far as i remember it was gohan who said we told them to say home because it was to dangerous. They couldn't get into contact with goku and vegeta at the time.
And did you really just excuse gokus actions against cell?.

No, Gohan leaves them out because they're heckless. Remember, in the movie the Z fighters were purposefully trying to drag the grunt battle in order to delay facing Freeza. There was also the Tarble special, where they somehow manage to mess up and endanger everyone while facing an enemy weaker than them.
Edit: In Super, Goku tells them to leave only when he arrives and the battle against Freeza himself is about to start. They wouldn't be useful at all there. If anything, everyone should have left, considering how Freeza starts attacking people to distract Goku.
Yeah I was referencing the scene in Super where Goku tells them to leave. You're right though... everyone else should have left, especially Bulma.

They already finished Kai a few months ago. He's either working on Super and the hashtags are meant to be a joke or he's working on something else entirely, maybe a Dragon Ball game, maybe something entirely unrelated to Dragon Ball.
