It is known.

When the idea of Beerus came out we heard about his cat being sick.

Just saw the episode. Was pretty good despite having a lot of recap filler. It also seemed like the animation was a bit better than usual.

One thing I'm curious about, is how Gohan could have fallen far enough to need to spar with Piccolo. Or that Piccolo could have improved enough to even match Gohan. This Gohan downgrade doesn't really make much sense (I know, I don't want to start another Gohan thing on here, but it's just odd).

It would have made more sense if Goku or Vegeta trained him. DBS gonna DBS, I guess.

Ehhh it's not like Gohan was going Super Saiyan so it's not too crazy I think. Heck, EoZ Uub had a convincing fight with Base Goku of the future (not that it was actually close but nonetheless...).

Since Mystic/Ultimate Gohan definitely isn't a thing anymore.

Don't you just want to punch Goku in his stupid face

he gets those eyes at least 5x times each episode nowadays...

Or did it always happen this often and I just never noticed

Vegeta's "Servitude" is just him being smart. Beerus can destroy Earth in a second and Vegeta actually cares about his family and Earth, so he does what he does to make sure Beerus doesn't kill everyone.

man, I wanna call BS on this one.
Beerus isn't the same beerus from before. They even pointed out as much this ep in that Beerus/Whis conversation. The tournament thing, training the saiyans, plus bulma slapped him again and he didn't do anything at all. At this point he has a soft spot for earth or Goku/Vegeta so he isn't a threat at all anymore. (This actually makes him boring now imo.) I think DBS would be 10x more interesting if Beerus was kind of a pseudo villain that they had to navigate and keep happy, while doing their own thing or taking him down. That'd be cool and compelling. It's a semi-used cliche to train under the person you need to kill, but it's more interesting than what we have currently.

tanget aside, vegeta isn't really striking me as smart right now. I keep hearing it repeated but I'm not seeing it. Until he does something, Beerus is basically....like old Andriod saga vegeta. Not a "good guy", but not a threat despite what is said. Maybe they should've kept the tone from when Beerus first came. So all the posturing by vegeta seems pointless.

He says Piccolo's been retraining him starting from the beginning. Piccolo is a technical fighter so it makes plenty sense and it was established that even having slacked off Gohan was still stronger than him in the fight against Frieza's army.

Serious talk: Gohan's Hair

Saiyan/Android Saga > Cell Games > RoSaT >= Future (SSJ) >>> Saiyaman/Dabura (SSJ) > High School > Ultimate >> BoG >>> Namek > Future > RoF > U6

Dammit Super, he NEEDS bangs. Bare forehead is hideous right now.

Yeah I suppose, if you think of it as Gohan getting winded and losing his fighting sense, and just needing to get the technical aspect back up to speed.

It would be nice to see Piccolo return to relevance. Hopefully something good is in store.

Mhmm, I'm not really a fan of how silly they're making Goku seem. Perhaps he never took things as seriously as he should have in Z or whatever, but he wasn't a complete idiot. I guess the voice actor isn't helping things either. Need that English dub already.

Also as a side note, I really liked how powerful people looked while powering up in Z. It takes away some of the effect when they're just transforming in and out without effort in Super. I mean, look at this. Goku in the Android Saga powering up to SSJ: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpRysAo5pU0

Then Goku turning SSJB in Super: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0WX3LNXXxA

meh

The very next video that loads after that one is Vegeta's first transformation to Super Saiyan. It's quite simple but at the same time, something really exciting about it. Unlike the first transformations into SSB.

Of course, the story behind it is that it was difficult for them to transform into that form, and it was rough and power hungry, while most of the later transformations are smoother and more efficient. Still, SSB could have gone with a bit more of a show.

I always wondered something. How is Goku able to teleport to King Kai's place. Isn't that in another dimension? Like Snake way is connected to the afterlife after all.

You have to keep in mind that DBZ had to stretch out every scene/insert filler, so that it wouldn't catch up with the manga. In the original DB manga, that SSJ transformation in front of the androids happens instantly. (black haired normal guy in one panel, SSJ in the next).
Now scenes are not stretched out as much anymore, because there's no manga. (Well, there is, but it's different enough from the anime to not matter) Doesn't stop them from making filler recap episodes though lol.

We don't know what vegeta is actually thinking. What we DO know is that he has a drive to be the strongest warrior that ever lived. We know vegeta will do whatever it takes to get there -- even letting someone else take over his mind and body.

Who is to say all this posturing isn't just a way to relax beerus for now until he surpasses him Remember these words: " I'll never forgive this..." Vegeta says this to beerus. And vegeta NEVER forgets.

I imagine there will come a time where vegeta figures out beerus authorized his planet's destruction. We will see what happens then. Maybe a new arc? Maybe.

I take it that beerus saying that he hopes they aren't trying to take his role as the god of destruction from him is a sort of foreshadowing of events in the future where they will have to fight to the death. Who knows?

-------------------

As far as goku. I've been saying this forever: they made him into a total tool. Every chance he gets he says something stupid. Every chance. They need to stop. Some of that shit is just hard to watch.

Gohan was also sparring with him in his base form so he's not getting the ridiculous Super Saiyan strength multiplier. A good example of this was when Tien and Trunks fought: Tien actually held his own fairly well until Trunks "got serious" and went SSJ. Now this doesn't account for the Mystic power up but I think we have to assume that is gone at this point.

Not only that but that wasnt a good example anyway.

The example he showed versus goku's new one are two different styles of transformation. If we reference dbs and what it is currently trying to go for it makes sense. The old transformations were wasteful, and made the user bigger and bulkier (even with training to maintain it). The new transformations exchange that for what you see above. A slimmer, more efficient build and no rocks being thrown around or stuff exploding.

The old way of transforming is still present in dbs. You can watch frieza's transformation to observe this in action:

https://youtu.be/gpXlW71Ca6s

Lots of ki leaking from the body. In fact, that aura was friggin "YOUUUGE"! The old style way of transforming.

There is consistency there at least, because we hear whis tell vegeta and goku to try not to let ki escape their bodies. Vegeta's transformation was just as tame as Goku's in that fight:

https://youtu.be/lkiv6F-vz80

I have to say I like the old school transformation better, but I see why it doesn't " look" as good. At least it makes sense.

I don't know if this was posted here but the 30th history book revealed that Beerus is actually an animated version of Toriyama's cat "Debo"

We already knew this.

The last episode had an entire segment implying that Beerus is just the same as he always was. Vegeta is just trying to keep him from getting into a bad mood, we know Beerus is petty.

Leaking chi being a sign of non-mastery was present even in Z. In the later arcs they go SSJ1 without huge powerups.

And look at the 2008 OAV with Tarble. We rarely see Goku in down time but this is how he is.

Oh yeah, for those saying we don't see Goku's intelligence in Super we saw him figure out mid battle that he could cancel out Beerus's power if he mirrored his moves, which surprised even Beerus.
Holy shit Vegeta and Goku are going to train together in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber I never thought I'd see the day!
I love that Goku and Vegeta are pals now.
