Dragon Ball Super |OT2| June 12: Judgment Day

Is it safe to assume Cabba = Uni 6 Gohan

He talks a lot about his family so....maybe?

He is just Tarble, really. Reminder that during the SSGodo ritual, in the movie they mention Tarbles and wonder if they can get him to help, but he is too far away. In the anime nobody even remembers him.

They are even giving Vegeta and Cabbe a relationship like two brothers stranded for a long time would have.

Looks like shit.

Now this is a real tournament fight. DBS have a bunch of kiddy fights in comparison.

This isn't really the equivalent. That was basically the climax of the entire android/cell arc. They had to make sure the quality and choreography was on point as the entire arc had been building up to Goku saving the day against Cell.

The tournament here is a lot earlier on into any potential arc and there is no real point business-wise to waste time and resources making this look immaculate. You ideally want a natural progression of the choreography in the fights so the final fights look absolutely epic.

We probably won't see anything as great as the stuff we saw in DBZ because of Toriyama completely dictating everything with his manga but you shouldn't criticise Super too harshly on that aspect and call it "shit". There are a lot of factors involved that are preventing absolutely top notch choreography at the moment.

Looks like we might be getting a bit of that with Hit Hyuga using them Gentle Fist techniques next episode.

I'll definitely agree that the animation, fighting, choreography, is way worse.

But I feel like Super is just as good as Z. Where it losses in that regard, it makes up for great pacing, interesting new characters, battles that actual end, bit more adventure and humor. Its more of a mix I feel between DB and DBZ.

Your example is from episodes 160--167'ish from original Dragonball Z and one of the best fights in the entire series.

Meanwhile, we're 8 episodes into the actual new stuff from Dragonball Super. Not even had the first real villain yet and Vegeta nor Goku haven't even started fighting at full power.

Give it time.

oh here we go again people in denial thinking gt is anything but terrible

can we fast forward to admitting faulconer is way too over the top and ruins every scene

Gt was pretty fucking terrible. At least the animation was good and had some cool ideas but, GT was seriously on par with Return of F arc in terms of suck. That ending was pure shit too.

Are people passing off Cabba as a scrub?

His base form matched base Vegeta after all the training, his first minute in SS form challenged (at least at first) SS Vegeta which also benefitted from all the god mode training. Vegeta only attained god mode recently in his middle (for a human) age, and with a god-type-thing helping out.

Cabba has obvious potential...And as I'm typing that out, I realize, yep, Gohan, lol.

But it's clear that the movies have negatively affected our experience of Super until the new content arrived.

I still liked the changes to Resurrection F though. And to be fair everything but the Goku vs. Freeza stuff there was okay.

Call me when Gohan is mentioned :D

i think that was happening right before the future trunks stuff came out of nowhere O:

oh great i just realized now future trunks is going to become a regular part of the cycle

(pls time patrol pls time patrol pls time patrol pls time patrol pls time patrol pls time patrol)

Where ya been future trunks been apart of the cycle

What if... the white hair tease is for Gohan...

Didn't someone post fan art of that a quite a few pages back?

So I guess the wording of Toyotaro's quote in the original Japanese language is something that doesn't quite translate perfectly, but he's basically saying that the character is outright related to the future.
I'm now like 90% sure Future Trunks is coming back.

What if he shows up and he's already Blue, lol.

the white enemy is freeza guys, it was referring to his weaker form's white skin

also HYPE for future trunks

No, he said "The next enemy", the current enemy was Freeza and if he meant Freeza he would have said it, add to that that nobody even fought Final Form Freeza in Blue and it's pretty clear he's talking about something in the future.

If it is Future Trunks it seems like there's still a lot to go since the only reference to him was current Trunks saying he'd slice Freeza up if he ever came back again lol.

Why exactly? I mean he showed up out of nowhere the first time, why would this time be more telegraphed?

What's this white hair tease you guys are referring to?

I have no faith in Toei of current since they outright admitted that they had their new animators handle DBS instead of the veterans.

Just venting my frustration at this subpar studio. Dragon Ball deserves better.

I could have posted Vegeta vs Goku. That is far superior to anything in DBS.

Good thing they've been getting better, as evidenced by the increase in quality, especially the latest episode, which was great!

Oh man... there's an image from the collected DB Super manga vol. 1 with Magetta walking away crying about his 50% test score lol.

Hopefully future Trunks meets up with Gohan and tells him how much of a pathetic loser he is. This shocks Gohan, and causes him to develope a time machine so that he can go back in time to the Buu saga so that he's relevant again.

Looking at Kid Trunks, Future Trunks is in no position in calling Gohan a loser.
Bring back Future Trunks and let him train Kid Trunks so that he's not trash anymore like his father anymore.

That and what we have right now is a real tournament more akin to what we got in the series prior to Raditz. Match ups that happen here and there that really help build up for the one big fight at the end. Comparing it to the fights against the actual villains is bizarre really.

Interview with Toriyama

Thanks, so how does an enemy with white hair correlate with future Trunks? Or did I read comments wrong and that's not what made people begin guessing he's coming to Super?
