It's hard to get excited for a new xenoverse, personally.

I don't need what if stories of movies now that we have a new series. I don't need ssj3 on every char now that it's an irrelevant transformation.

And I sure as hell would want a good gameplay out of a dbz game :/ .

If they bring anything from heroes, I hope it's the races ( android, bio android, Kai, etc.. ) and maybe their God forms so that every race gets something not just saiyans.

Hoping for a versus mode without levels, better controls...

Hopefully more body types, faces and hairstyles. More original clothes too.

So much work. Hopefully the fact that there is virtually no visual update means they spent the time on gameplay and content.

I also can't care at all about xeno trunks now that real trunks is coming back.

I feel like they started this sequel long before Super was a thing, and it's relying too hard on making old stuff fresh... Except there is a lot of fresh stuff to work on.

I can't see how a tournament would work with xenoverse making your CAC fight at all times :/ .

speaking of heroes has anyone seen the tien and yamcha fusion yet?

because lol

It's on a website now so you can link it here:

I think that I was more excited for the announcement of a new Xenoverse than what we actually ended up getting. It still looks like it's using that PS3/360 base which is a bit dissapointing, I really miss the higher quality models, detailed intros, intimate 1v1 fights, and decently animated special attacks from Tenkaichi/Raging Blast. If they made a game like that again I would likely die from shock, lol. I'm still buying XV2 though, I still play XV1 on the PC and it's still a blast messing around with created characters.

Xenoverse 2 looks old gen because they're secretly working on a current gen Budokai game.

#believeit

As is the original. English version changed his name to Tiencha for reasons.

Guess it's related to Tenshinhan being "Tien Shinhan" in the English dub? Fusion names only ever consist of the first names being mixed, so Yamhan isn't possible in the English dub.

In Germany he was called Yamhan.

tiencha is at LEAST as strong as kaioken goku from the saiyan saga

maybe

Honestly I think Tien at his peak is way way way way beyond Saiyan Saga Goku + Kaio-Ken X4. Given that he was able to rapid fire his Tr-Beam one after another at Semi-Perfect Cell, and managed to push him back down repeatedly with every single attack makes it difficult to believe that he had a sub 32,000 power level (Goku + KK x4 in Saiyan Saga) to draw from.

I know he was severely over taxing his power reserves and putting his very life at risk to perform such an incredible feat at his level of power, but I would think he would have to have a much larger well of power reserves to do so when faced with an enemy like Semi-P Cell whose power levels was (I think. I don't quite remember as power levels give me a headache) was probably greater than 100 million.

In my opinion, the likes of Krillin and Tien were in the range of a few million in terms of power level after the three years of training. I know people might disagree with me, and that's ok. I just think that despite being vastly inferior to Piccolo, Cell and the Saiyans who all (probably) boast 9 digit power levels, it's not impossible for humans to be sitting in the low millions range...except for Yamcha. His power level was probably nowhere near Tien or Krillin.

It is a pretty common occurrence in Dragon Ball Z for one person to tank powerful energy attacks from weaker foes without getting a scratch on them, and sometimes the difference between the two is maybe 2x - 3x the difference in total power a la Vegeta being completely unfazed by a charged Galick Gun from Semi-P Cell...and he just sat there and took it. Granted he knew it was coming and had more than enough time to divert enough of his ki to defend against it and not be injured. In the case of Tien's attacks on Cell, I doubt Cell's average defensive power was so low to the point where someone with maybe 1/100th of his total power could affect him so much. That in my eyes makes me think that Tien, while his attacks were special and spiced up with some extra life energy, couldn't be packing a sub 1 million power level.

Of course I do admit that I could be completely wrong in every respect, and I wasted too much time thinking about one instance and one character from Dragon Ball Z. Having a week off of work makes me think about unimportant things way too much. I should probably go out and shoot some hoops or do something productive.

To this day I still don't understand why tein was able to push cell back, Cell was like a million time stronger then tein will ever be.

Life power hax.

I'd need the manga in front of me for the exact details, but in rough terms the Tri-Beam Cannon runs on Life Force instead of Ki. That makes the attack an order of magnitude more powerful (when Goku and Tien fought back in the tournament, Tien's Tri Beam Cannon obliterated the entire ring, and that was with Tien holding back - at a time where a regular Kamehameha could be tanked or reversed pretty easily), but at the cost of the user's life. Still doesn't make sense since just a few years earlier his Tri-Beam did shit against Nappa, who was WAY WAY WAY closer in power to him than Semi-Perfect Cell. Oh well, maybe with the upgrade to "Neo" Tri-Beam he improved Life Force efficiency by 100000000000% percent :P

We were lucky to get the original names in Germany (except Yamchu, because whatever -.-), I never understood the name changes in the US version. Tien, Hercule, Pikkon, Krillin. I mean... why? (in Mr. Satan's case I get it, but the other ones...)

Random thought, but has Kageyama done any Dragon Ball related things since the Yamamoto incident happened? Listening to the Budokai opening themes right now and those two were so great. The last one I can remember is the Raging Blast 2 theme.

I always liked Tien. Kinda reminds me of Trunks. Just... not as strong.

Besides. He's stronger than Krillin, no?

People argue about that.

Tenshinhan does have better feats in later sagas, although people will question whether they mean anything. Aside from the Kikoho against Cell, Tenshinhan also dodges an eye beam from #20, takes at least two hits from a Cell Jr before going down in the manga while Kuririn was down in one hit, and stops a blast from Super Buutenks. In the recent movies, there's how Kuririn at one point had trouble with Freeza's soldiers and needed to be saved by Gohan, while Tenshinhan fought alone without problems, and, in Super, there's him taking Beerus' kiai that took out 18 and Piccolo at the same time and not being visibly worse off than those two.

However, on the Kuririn side, there's a statement from Yamcha before the tournament in the Buu Saga about Kuririn being the strongest human, and Kuririn has been referenced like that in at least one interview with Toriyama. Outside of the Budokai games though, they've never specifically said that Kuririn was stronger than Tenshinhan, so there's always a chance he was just overlooked during those statements due to his lack of importance and appearances in comparison with Kuririn.

If Krillin is truly stronger than Tenshinhan, then I would say it's due to the elder namek's potential unlocking.

Otherwise it's up in the air. Yamcha says he's stronger. I think Toriyama has said Krillin is stronger, but Tenshinhan has done cooler shit overall, imo.

it doesn't matter anyway because Uub is thousands of times stronger than both of them combined.

So I finished watching that fan cut of Resurrection F. The main things they added was a bunch of the Vegeta/Whis/Goku training to the beginning that was in Super, including Vegeta's pleas to start training to begin with.

They also cut in a bunch from episode 27, including the extended destruction of Earth scenes and the ending celebration where Gohan decides to train despite not cutting in the other scenes from episodes 22-23.

Here's a list from the author:

- Opening Titles

- Vegeta vowing to reach the level of gods (Episode 16)
- Freeza in Hell (Movie)
- Vegeta arrives at home.

Comedy scenes convincing Whis to train him.
Scene ends with Vegeta & Whis flying off.

- Freeza's ship scenes (Movie)

Text reads "Sometime later..."
Discussion about reviving Freeza.
Scene ends with Sorbet and Tagoma heading to Earth

- Pilaf Gang on Earth as Sorbet & Tagoma arrive (Movie)
The film plays out normally up until Shenlong explains how many wishes are allowed.

Three wishes clip inserted from Super Ep. 19.

Freeza revives as seen in the film. Film plays out normal up until Tagoma says that perhaps they should leave the Saiyans alone.

Insert Freeza torturing Tagoma. (Episode 20)
Scene plays out to end. All mentions of power levels removed.

- Goku arrives at Beerus' place with Whis (Episode 18)
Episode plays out as normal. The eyecatch of the episode is replaced with the Freeza training scenes from episode 21. Original music has been removed and replaced with slower, eerie music from the F soundtrack.
- Remainder of episode 18 plays out until the nighttime scene where Vegeta says he won't lose to Goku.

- Jaco's spaceship heads to Earth. (Movie)

Title reads "4 Months Later".

- Film plays out as normal up to Freeza's explanation to Goku and Vegeta about training to achieve his new strength.

Combo of clips edited together to form a flashback depicting Freeza training and killing Tagoma.

- Films plays out as normal up to Freeza's tranformation.

Freeza's movie form reveal combined with Episode 25's.
Beginning of fight replaced with scenes from episode 25 & 26.

- Film plays out as normal up to laser scene.

Combined movie and Super #26 clips to depict Goku powering down and being shot in his base form.

- Films play out as normal until Vegeta's transformation.

Scene has been totally overhauled to mix the film and #27's rendition. Transformation feels more climactic, as a result.

- Remainder of film plays out until Goku kills Freeza.

Ending entirely replaced by episode 27 of Super.
Gohan damage and Piccolo death mentions removed.

- End.

Overall I think I still like the TV version better, from a story perspective but there's no doubt the movie parts look great.

I need to ask a dumb question, why are we getting such a large amount of filler, i mean it still has to be animated. Are we waiting on the scripts to be done?

Just saw the Super cut of Res F. Very solid and seamless cut that takes the best of both worlds. My only complaint is that it didn't have Gotenks barging in, but other than that it really is the definitive version of the Return of Freeza arc. Even better than the original movie.
