Dragon Quest Convention in Europe (Switzerland, May 28-29) [surprise, it's a hoax]

Heroes didn't perform too well overseas from what I can tell but I'm still hopeful when it comes to its sequel getting localized. There probably isn't THAT much text and we got the first game so that's something. Add Builders on top of that and I'll feel pretty good about Dragon Quest's recent string of localizations. No way we'd miss out on XI at least.

I really don't know about Joker 3. I'd love to get the game but we're gonna be crowded on 3DS when it comes to DQ with VII and VIII (and I'd assume XI 3DS on top of that) already.

It's a shame really. Lots of great unlocalized ones on there but it's too late to get most of them now. I want to play the Monsters 1 and 2 remakes so badly.

Rumor going around that Rocket Slime 3 (the one with the pirate ships) is getting localized under the name "Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime 3."

If it was true(probably not) you'd think they'd abandon the Heroes subtitle since there's an actual series called Heroes now. That's just needlessly confusing.

#1 That game came out 5 years ago.
#2 RS2 was localized just as RS. Why would they jump to 3 in their title?
#3 Two Dragon Quest Heroes branded games within a small time span despite hugely different gameplay?
#4 That logo looks super amateurish.

I really can't wait to give Builders a go. Square Enix would have been dumb to not cash in on the Minecraft craze before it dies down.

Here's hoping for they actually have Builders Vita version. That one actually outsold the PS4 version in Japan.

Aww man, you really got my hopes up there but that logo looks like a really bad photoshop. Where did you find this info?

Rocket Slime 3 would make for a great eshop game :(

Again this is mere hearsay, but this sounds somewhat more hopeful than "here's the japanese version of Joker 3, btw it's not coming™"

Also an english version of the site is supposedly underway?

Probably just PS4 versions.

Web page says all of Joker series will be playable. Is this some kind of mistake? Or they meant first 2 DQM remakes on 3DS?

I heard the 3rd Slime Morimori wasn't too great but damn did I love the original and Rocket Slime... would still totally lose my shit if it did get a US release. So, did anyone from GAF attend?

Dragon Quest monsters joker 3 killed it in Japan this past week, really hoping we at least get the professional edition.

I'm getting a little teary-eyed that people are still doing tag mode with Dragon Quest IX in this day and age. Had they waited until the 3DS to do such a thing, I probably would've had some inn guests and some special grotto maps by now...

Sorry to bump this thread, but I figured that since this is happening next week (and the event is actually legit, even though some of us feared it was just a hoax), some people might be interested in attending.

We could get more news about Dragon Quest VII and VIII here and maybe some hints at a Builders localization (the demo allegedly features english text).

There's a japanese DQ anniversary stream happening this week too.

Yeah, very interested in general info and fun from the convention too, hopefully we finally get the North American 3DS release dates for DQ VII & VIII and not getting my hopes up but hoping for good news on Builders and (much less likely) DQM3.

According to Horii from an interview from quite some time ago, he said any action based DQ spin offs would be labeled under the "Dragon Quest Heroes" moniker to separate them from the mainline Dragon Quest titles.

To quote

Horii: Dragon Quest XI will be a return to the classical game mechanics of the Dragon Quest series. If we do another action RPG, we'll do so in the Dragon Quest Heroes series. We really want to differentiate between these two types of games.

Its a shame that the event was canceled. I really do want to see DQBuilders and Heroes 2 come over, Especially Builders as that game is filled with kanji i cant read.

Though, it does seem rather odd that they would show the Japanese ver 4 months after the game is out already.

E3 i guess?

Disappointing, would have been nice to see some new footage as well as the possibility to talk about more Dragon Quest in the west. Although the whole thing seemed rather out-of-nowhere & unofficial in the first place, I wonder why it was cancelled...

Disappointed....well not like I could have attended.
I think part of my family wouldn't be pleased with me if I skipped my brothers wedding to attend it...not that it matters now :(
