Dragon Quest Heroes - Overview Trailer.

I want this so bad, never got into minecraft, but I am jonesing for this

My bad, wrong game

lol.

Does anyone think this game will be test for localization? Like if this doesn't sell, they won't localize the next DQ game?

I sure as heck hope not!

I'm not big into these Musou style games, so I'm skipping it.

god I love DQ.

One of my all tiime fav franchises.
Its just so charming, music is great as is the artstyle and designs.

Day fucking 1!

So some general questions:

1) How much content is there in this game?

2) Are there unlockable characters or is everyone there from the get go?

3) Is there online coop or splitscreen coop?

How much RPG is in this ? Or is this very much just a musou game?

Levels and ability unlocks, equipment, like an RPG, but action combat like musou. I guess the first part is like musou too.

The progression is very not musou -- if you go in expecting map control you're going to be disappointed. It's more about finishing objectives: beating boss monsters, tower defense, etc.

i'm just going to go on a blackout with my copy being paid off already.

Haven't you read the threads? You're a bad person for pre-ordering games.

In an unrelated note, I traded in a couple games yesterday and pre-ordered this and Divinity. I'm actually getting kind of hyped for this game. It really is sounding awesome.

1) Well, I'd say a lot. There's the main story, the side quests (item gathering ones and special events), in-game achievements, replayable stages with different levels of difficulty and NG+

2) You unlock characters along the way during the main quest, though there are a couple of secret characters you only unlock through quests

3) Unfortunately, no multiplayer at all.

Played demo of this multiple times at gamescom (won a shirt :D) and again at egx and adored it to no end. Instant day one for me.

Very interested in this. Not a big fan of the Warriors games, but if this has deeper systems and more interesting map design then I'm definitely on board.

Got my collector edition preordered !
I hope this game will do well enough so we get the sequel and DQ: Builder localized .

I played about 5 hours of the Japanese version and it's a really good game if you like Musou game but with rpg elements (a lot of rpg elements actually) you will like this .
And if you are like me and like Musou and Dragon Quest then there is no reason for not getting this .

Dat music at 2:25 sold me on the game.

I first knew about Dragon this game from an anime called Dai something. and I can't forget that music. I need to read the manga.

Da fuck is an ingeneer?

Also, I don't think tomboy is a profession.

Jokes on Japan aside, this looks pretty great and that guy is indeed a good voice actor.

It's not a musou, but in terms of player combat it's very similar to that, yeah.

My first RPG was Dragon Warrior 1 on the NES. Playing this is going to be cum inducing.

I did chuckle at the introduction to..... TERRY! The name that doesn't really terrify anything or one.

1) not bad, but not that much compared to other Musou games.....Pretty short if you are just clearing a story.

2) unlocked as you progress the story

3) no

Why does this have to release the same day as Disgaea 5.
2 huge time sinker the same day, damn.

Of course it was and still is day one, as a DQ fan, I'll do anything for DQ to come back in full force in the West.

Who's doing the localization? They are like, three orders of magnitude above Square lol

It still looks fun though. I'll give a try, but probably not day 1 for me =X

Great trailer. Looks to be a good localisation.

Really looking forward to this and the RPG elements. Hopefully that makes the game somewhat a little different to the general musou gameplay.

Wait I thought Level 5 published DQ games?

And what exactly is this? Is this not a traditional styled JRPG with a story, quest, sidequests, etc?

It does look good, but the last time I got excited for a JRPG (Ni No Kuni), I just couldn't finish it because of all the handholding and weak combat, despite loving everything else for being so special.

This isn't a JRPG, it's a musou game. Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, One Piece Pirate Warriors, etc.

I just want the freaking game, stop teasing me!

No, really, it's good to see that they are putting trailers out there. I liked this one.
