Dragon Quest Heroes (Square Enix/Omega Force, action rpg) announced for PS3/PS4, 2015

Omega Force action RPG? I'd love another game like Trinity in all seriousness.

Pretty shocking to see a Dragon Quest game coming out on non-Nintendo platforms at this point though.

I wish it was a PS4 only but nevertheless hype!!! Yes yes yes
I always wanted a Dragon Quest and a Zelda Mosou and I'm getting both XD

SE and their incompetent asses. Surprised Sony wheeled them on stage to announce and reveal stuff they can't possibly deliver in a reasonable amount of time.

10 bux says DQ:H will be delayed until it eventually becomes DQ12 and won't be playable until half way through the PS5 life cycle. That's right, I said PS5.

This post makes absolutely no sense, this is a Musou game developed by Omega Force, it will be out without any problem and it will sell a lot.

Even if it was like Trinity Souls, that's like saying it's just a Musou-lite game.
Just less enemies on screen with mostly the same mechanics.

Yeah Koei Tecmo always has very timely development schedules.

This won't get bogged down by the usual Square Enix internal delays.

It seems that Omega Force is shopping the Musou engine around every publisher they can find. I don't mind, really, it just that this is hilarious coming from Square-Enix.

I kind of got this vibe from the trailer, the way he jumped on the monster at the beginning didn't seem very musou-like.

Disappointing that it's multiplat.
I am not lol now I can get ps4 when it's chepaer(aka 2017 when kh3/FF15 comes out) but still enjoy this game on my PS3.

Two kind of hilarious salts in this thread:

- that it is a Musou title, not DQ11
- that it is cross-gen and not PS4 exclusive (WTF?)

Haven't seen any Nintendo salt yet.

What are the chances we get this?

Musou crossover games always sounds good on paper but then you see actual gameplay and realise they will always be terrible Musou games, and the initial excitement plummets to new lows.

Not if they want to play it on the go. PS4 will feature Remote Play and the PS3 will not. Vita owners at least would probably buy a PS4 for this game.

There will be more people buying a 3DS to play DQX on the go via streaming than Vita owners buying ps4 for remote play for this games.

It being Musou game means we might actually get it though. There is far less to translate.
I'd go another step and say that they'd hope to get broader interest for DQ this way, and in a way that'd sell in Japan at that. Musou games do well there, it's more action-y though Musou's kind of niche now here, but it may still generate interest and make the PS-only community pay attention again.

Plus we keep getting most of the anime themed ones, SE'd really have to have their heads up their ass to block this from coming here, and given they're putting out iOS ports they probably aren't THAT dumb. The last few games were problematic anyway, like it or not (Rocket Slime PROBABLY could've worked as a DD-only title but that wasn't being seriously explored when it hit, Monsters has not done well, and DQVII is up there with the Kiseki games or puts them to shame, neither are any good for localization odds when you're not guaranteed multi millions.)

Would be nice if it's an actual Action RPG and not just Musou with more RPG-like stats. But it will probably be exactly that.

If so, guess I'll keep waiting for FFXV and KHIII for my Action RPG fix.....*cries*.

Could this actually mean that DQXI for the PS4 is a possibility?

This would be a nice silver lining though.

I'm shocked this isn't coming out on the Wii U as well.

Missed opportunity to take advantage of the 200k++ hardcore DQ players on the system.

Sony might have had a role in securing exclusivity or SE is trying to move DQ fans to the PlayStation family.

Two of my favorite franchises crossing over. Between this and Pirate Warriors 3 I don't what I did to deserve so much Musou goodness.

You don't need to build an userbase for Musou games on PlayStation platforms.
Have you seen PS4's performance in Japan? It is quite dire. You need to build a user base for *any* game for PlayStation 4 in Japan. Same problem for Yakuza Inshin and Zero, and P5, and basically everything that might get Japanese players to buy a PS4. Sony needs Japanese-oriented titles for PS4 desperately.
