Dragon's Dogma 2 |OT| Pawnworld

Well, if this gets confirmed: it's about time! DD2 clearly lacks polish and really needs a major DLC. Capcom has been strangely quiet, which made it seem like they didn't care anymore… but apparently, that's not the case.

Good thing they took their time, though... that could mean the content will be substantial. Or it'll just be another cosmetic armor set to unlock.

I just started to play this. I am enjoying it so far. Wish there was a decent fast travel, just like I wished hard in the first game.

It would be really strange to come up with a DLC after two years of silence on it. It better be a massive expansion at this point. I'd given up all hope, so giving this sort of morsel feels like they're just yanking my pizzle.

Yes it's obvious the game was released in an early beta stage as money ran out. Everything falls appart after the first 10h or so.

I like to believe that what happened was that they repeatedly took developers off DD2 and moved them to help out with the clusterfuck that was and still is MH Wilds because unfortunately it's the far bigger IP for Capcom. Which is why DD2 came out like it did in the end and why Itsuno chose to leave.

People shouldn't forget Hideaki Itsuno's departure.

I don't know what Capcom was expecting, but they were never going to sell 10 million copies like Monster Hunter. The complete lack of communication and/or updates really made it feel like the worst was coming.

But if they actually used those months to work on a major expansion and fix what's broken, then that's a good thing.

The real issue remains the terrible communication around this IP. They genuinely gave the impression that they just didn't care.

Which is a shame, because this is exactly the kind of game that, with enough time and effort, could turn into something long-lasting. And players usually don't forget that kind of support.

We'll see...

While Itsuno's departure was definitely a blow, Kinoshita is still there, afaik. And that guy is responsible for Dark Arisen and DD online. So maybe he's leading development of the expansion.

Why can't they just say that they're doing the thing like RE9 devs did? What's the point in being so secretive? If anything, knowing that something is comming for the game, lots of people might buy it now when it's on sale but nah...

Resident Evil company doesn't really want to care about Dogma since Tsujimoto(Monster Hunter Producer and now Chief Product Officer in charge of all game development) and Itsuno have always lowkey butted heads with the feud between Dragon's Dogma and Monster Hunter.

Hudo Hudo Quick history lesson about the beef between Tsujimoto and Itsuno. Timestamped for everyone's viewing pleasure.

IF support never comes hopefully playerswon't forget how terribly mishandled this game was as well. One of thw great disappointments this gen for me.

If DD2 built upon the foundation that DDDA and DDON already had in place DD2 would be in a better place. That said though if they do make a DLC it needs to be quite expansive to make up or correct DD2's shortcomings.

If DD2 brought the Enemy AI(modern Capcom enemy AI for large enemies and monsters is top tier garbo) and the whole bestiary from both DDDA, DDON and then some it would be a peak game.

2 years of silence and high expectations will demand much. If it's Kinoshita they can probably pull it off. Otherwise I think it's a lost cause. We need enemy variety, meaningful gear, an endgame, world bosses and a whole lot of system changes.

I'd be happy if we got some standard dungeons for once instead of RE4R caves.

Thank you for this. It's a surprisingly good video. I think it's the only video that actually touches on Itsuno and Tsujimoto.

Look, nothing is going to happen with this game. I've given up, so should you all. I am rather enjoying Crimson Desert, which somewhat covers what I wanted to experience with DD2 in regards to exploration.

That's why I fucking hate the slop called MH. DD is the superior game.

Dungeons, a hard mode and some new enemies. Imo that's the bare minimum to consider giving the whole thing a replay.

If they add a new northern region cool, and if they rebalance the game and even add some new vocations then even better. But all of that would make for quite a meaty expansion, and I don't know if they are eager to put in the effort.

Sure hope so. At the very least I'm happy that the series isn't dead and buried.

How is the game unfinished? Seems finished to me so far.
You should be able to tell later on, specially in regards to story, content and balance.

The real problem with the game is that in order to have the real Dragons Dogma 2 experience you need a specific set of action in the end so that you get dropped in the world after the ending and the you can actually find different monsters and a good challenge even for high level players. It is also the only moment where the title Dragon's dogma 2 come out.

Shouldn't this be put in spoiler tags?

Now that Itsuno's gone from the company, do you guys think anyone there can still do a Dark Arisen-tier expansion? I know he mentioned in interviews that he was hands off for most of DD2 to let the younger generation of developers get their feet wet (paraphrased), but I wonder if they have the ability to pull it off.

Anyways, here's me every time I get excited for DD2 DLC news:

Xbox Showcase on the 26th... Will they reveal it there? Main game I believe was mostly shown on Sony showcases but that partnership with the gamepad and it having an Xbox logo has me excited for Thursday.

Yeah, Kinoshita who's the same dude that directed both Dark Ariaen and the MMO. He worked as game designer in DD2 so I believe it'd be common sense for him to take care of the franchise from now on.

I tried Dragons Dogma 2, wanted to like the game but god the controls and movement just feels weird and unintuitive. I keep getting overencumbered, and I don't know what I must do to counter that. Even Monster Hunter Wilds as a first time Monster Hunter player wasn't this confusing with controls/UI mechanics.

Dude pointed out that the logo is slightly different than other times, having that soft blue tint and outline.
Might have something here because the OG was yellow outline.

Some are gonna hope it's the Dragon Princess rumor.

If moderators went to delete the post that'll just make people think it might be worth considering.

Be it that rumor or not, too much things are piling up for this to end up being fucking nothing: the cat dude looking back without showing it's face, the letter, the weird coin that isn't in the game, the red letters spelling "2nd arisen"...

If it really ends up being nothing this will be an epic trolling by Capcom lol, no way all this stuff is pure coincidence.

Why? I wouldn't assume reddit mods have any sort of knowledge of anything other people don't.

Reading the comments the post seemed harmless. Maybe my personal cope we get a reveal sooner then later.

I feel like the signs with the Beastren with their back turned, different coin(Northern Lands currency?), 2nd Arisen definitely points towards an expansion.

I feel like Capcom already did their trolling with the PNG Overlay.

There's some Xbox shit tomorrow, a "Partner Preview". Why would that matter? They just announced this thing, so I want to believe there's a chance lol.

That wasn't trolling, that was a capital offense and they should be persecuted and punished for that crime.

Considering the budget that went into DD2 and all of its assets, it would make sense for Capcom to do a re-release or 2.0 with streamlined gameplay, performance and some sort of expansion woven through the core game.

A bit like how they recently fixed the pc version of mh wilds and celebrated with new content. I'd love that, Dragon's Dogma is dope.
