Dragon's Dogma is AMAZING

Surreal_Blue is my PSN. Around level 20. Feel free to add me if you are just starting out like me and we can swap pawns and such!

So that's how your Mage pawn equipped full brim with dragonforged equipment (He still die very quick though, to BBI enemies :p). It always puzzle me before. Never try to change the equipment of a hired because I fear their original equipment will be lose, or that even the pawn will be instantly sent back to the rift.

Yeah dude, I explained it like twice before already, lol... and yes of course he'll die all the time in the BBI. And no, the old equipment just gets returned to the owner, to their storage I assume. It'd be hella broken otherwise. Can you imagine hiring a high level pawn with end-game gear, then equipping him with fisherman tatters and destroying the end-game gear for the owner? Megatrolling, lol

Anyone have a lvl 200 pawn i can borrow :)
Mine is like 175, he can take on anything in the game. PSN: MorriganStark, pawn: Kai

I finished the first playthough after about 30 hours with my Hero being on Level 54 and I think a good half or more of the sidequests done. The last missions were quite something. I also got through a good chunk of the Isle (I managed to reach some shortcut that leads right to the entrance) but the enemies quickly got much harder. Any good place to level up quickly?
I also started a New Game+ and just decided to change my Hero to my Pawn and my Pawn to the Hero, because why not. Like to show it, but I don't know how you can make and upload photos (I always play offline, but I can connect it - does it require Xbox Gold?).

But yeah, one of the best games of that gen, definitely.

I doubt you got through a good chunk of BBI with only 30 hours under your belt. I'm actually surprised you finished the main game that quickly. I probably had double that but I guess it's do-able. Best place to level up for your level is probably the Everfall. Try the Ur-Dragon or at least the chamber of fate.

The section I did of BBI only took about 2 hours to complete. I also was at a high level already so I went through the first sections quickly. The main quest really isn't long at all and many sidequests give you enough EXP to level up quickly up until late game. Tried the Ur-Dragon but he killed me in one hit so I think that I'm still fairly underleveled. On the other hand, I just read some nice strategies against him, so I'll give it another try.

Yeah I think you have a fair while to get yet with BBI and it only gets harder. I spent most of my time exploring and fighting the drakes and other large monsters in the world as well as beating every room in the everfall before considering ng+ so that's probably why I think 30 hours seems short.

As for the Ur-Dragon, you are a low level but it's definitely not impossible. Depends on your build. I did it at level 70 but I was a mage and had a tough time.

Put in over 120 hours and made it up to level 82 originally in Dragon's Dogma. Then when Dark Arisen came out, I decided to boot up a New Game+ on Hard for Bitterblack Isle.
Holy COW!
Now I'm level 146 and Bitterblack is still letting me know who's boss.
I get some levels up, get some good gear, get some headway, and then Bitterblack suddenly remembers that it's an asshole.

Since I'm playing this game right now and this thread's on the first page I might as we'll ask here. Is there a way to quick travel in this game like for example Skyrim and Xenoblade Chronicles? I found a thing that teleported me to Gran Soren but only had one use. It's a pretty big world.

If you don't have save from original DD, then DDDA won't give you eternal ferrystone which let you teleport. BUT you can buy ferrystone for cheap (2000 g) from gran soren.

How hard is this game?, i mainly like to play games and just kill stuff, i don't like having to fiddle with equipment/gear and leveling up, isn't there a mode where i can just... play and have the game do whatever is necessary?

Just finished the main game on normal. What a great game!

On a second thought it looks like I didn't really finished the game.

About to finish the game, can someone hire my pawn plz? I'll also hire yours in return.
add me on psn
PSN: Pablo_Klutch
Thx

If you are about to finish the game.. uh.....

how are you going to use others' pawn?

Game is actually fairly easy. However you DO need to fiddle with equipment/gear. Leveling up is pretty flawless and easy but you need to learn/equip skills.

fiddling with gear is one of the worst aspects of the game, or more specifically how it's handled. That said you could set the game to easy mode and to some what relieve the need to manage equipment and stats.

Hi everyone, I'm a lvl 70+ sorcerer turned assassin, my pawn was always a fighter/warrior, now I switched her to mage ( no lvling tho, just to increase her vocation rank). I'd like to have people who play the game on my friends list! My psn is angelcage1987

I bought this game just before The Last of Us came out.
Enjoyed it more then I expected but kinda forgot about it with all the other games and much to do at work.

This thread got me exited to continue so I booted up my PS3 yesterday, aaaaaaaaand my save data is gone...

Seems like the data wasn't uploaded to the cloud when I had to reset my Playstation Account.
Same thing with Dark Souls.

F*ck my life..

I'm really not in the mood to start over again.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong.

I beat the supposed final boss and it wasn't hard. My weapons are now two times stronger, but I can't damage the first enemy in the next dungeon,
the big eye with tentacles
.

Is it supposed to be that hard?

You cant damage it at all? Maybe your weapon is an element it is immune to. Switch to something that isn't magic enhanced.

The Evil Eye has magical barrier around when it's not attacking making it invulnerable. Bits and pieces of it only become vulnerable when that specific piece of the body starts casting or attacking. The Barrier can also be destroyed by powerful Archimagick spells like Bolide.

I'm seriously thinking of getting Dark Arisen tomorrow and sell my copy of the original DD. The only problem is getting the pre-owned sticker of the game case.

I damanged it a little bit. My Arisen is a Magic Archer :(

Oh, that should be it. I'll try again tomorrow.

Thanks guys.

Picked it up, time to explore

Does it force you into a new game + after beating main quest/plot? So i can take my time and explore every nook and cranny before hand.

Wow, Bitter Black Isle is most definitely the best part of the game, period. BBI is that challenging, big explorable dungeon that I was waiting for. I really like the design of it too. It kind of reminds me of Dark Souls level design a little bit in terms of exploration, challenge and inter-connectivity.

Yep, it's the best section of the whole game. The influence of the Souls series is very apparent.

No it doesn't. There's actually a lot to explore in the post-game with a lot of changes.

And I have to repeat the love for Bitterblack Isle. It's rare that I bother with the endgame stuff in most games. It's usually boring and grindy. But I'm loving Bitterblack even more than the main game.

Took your pawn to a quick Daimon run and gave you a bitterblack lvl 3 weapon. Sent you a friend request since there is no way you can summon my pawn. Just be aware there is a severe exp penalty for summoning higher level pawns.

Wow the area around Gran Soren is HUGE. I explored some of it (I'm at the Ancient Quarry now) but should I leave running around for later? I actually ditched the cart and haven't entered Gran Soren yet lol.

Thx for that! I added you. I'm only lvl 55 right now and started wandering around BBI, was doing pretty good until the Gorecyclops bit my head off. Back to Everfall for a few, I need to down the Ur-dragon but he keeps disappearing and sometimes he's not even there lol.

I was walking around Gran Soren and my character started to glow green near a random pawn and that pawn only, nowhere else. Why was that?

Most probably because that pawn is wearing equipment which has heal nearby allies effect.

Anyways, anyone wishing to hire a level 200 Mage can add me at LaughingBanana PSN.

Hmm, maybe I'll create a new character/main pawn combo...

Anyone want to add me on psn? Username is Almyn. I only have one friend on my list who has played. It'd be nice to have some other higher level pawns to hire.

Took your pawn on a bunch of Daimon runs.

Took her out for one run too. Had enough time just before work. Gifted her cursed bitterblack lvl 3 weapon.

So I was searching for pawns a couple of hours ago and I see this mage pawn with 766 attack. She has some piece of the carrion set, but her abilities were like the basic mage ones. I didn't enlist her for obvious reasons.

Anyone else ran into pawns that are terrible with the stats they have. Warrior or fighter with 866 magic attack? Haha.

They' probably switched vocations to build their other stats up.
