I had one VMU that was particularly louder than the other, so it sounded like two were harmonizing or some shit when I turned it on...
I've probably heard the DC intro more than any other due to having to turn it on and off so much in vain attempts to get it to load GDROMs it didn't like.

You are high.
Visuals are the least important thing in an intro, especially since it will be guaranteed to be dated. What is important visually is the iconic quality of it. Like a Paramount or Universal or Disney intro. Something that looks decent and is memorable, but most important to an intro is the MUSIC/SOUND. It is the sound that evokes the memories of a place and time, much more so than the visual. You hear that PSX intro and you are instantly transported to those days, firing up Tomb Raider or Resident Evil or hell Tecmo's Deception.
