I love it, but Gamecube's is and will always be perfect.

It perfectly encapuslates the system and its philosphy, as well as what it became.

It also has tons of easter eggs, all of which reference aspects of nintendo or gaming history or philisophy. That shit ought to be in the Louvre.

The MGS one is obviously awesome, but my personal one is the PSX intro to Final Fantasy VIII's Overture intro. I still content that FF VIII has the best soundtrack of all time--all in my opinion, of course.

The PSX startup is probably the "best" in a vacuum, but it does not connect with the actual system as the gamecube startup does.

I love it that the gamecube menu music is the FDS bootup sound 16 times slowed down.

I'm going to have to agree with the people saying PS1. The first time I ever turned it on at a friends house was one of those gaming moments that has stuck with me since. Shivers down my spine. I only owned a N64 at the time and never played a PS1. I fell in love. I remember I played the demo of some rally game. I wish I could remember what it was.

Try booting your PS1 with a 5.1 surround sound, you'll hear hidden sounds.

The DC was always relaxing. PSone was as well.

However, with GCN, NeoGeo, Sega CD, I felt like I was going to actually play a game. Both good.

3DO wasn't too bad. If you're sitting waiting around, it might as well be asteroids coming at you.

That's the same intro I had on my Saturn, and it was a North American version. Maybe the Saturn's sold in Canada had this boot intro?
