"Free games?" Why are we lying about this? You're paying $50+ for those games to become "free", and remain free for the duration of your subscription.
The PS4 launch lineup looks more and more depleted by the day. Third-party support weakening and a less-than-respectable showing from their first-party studios. (Killzone and... what else?) Resogun looks like a fun time, but I would feel much more comfortable buying into a platform, if it wasn't asking me to bank on such an unknown factor panning out. Obviously, we don't know how ANY game will turn out until it's actually here... I guess what I'm trying to say is that Sony's launch lineup should give me an idea of what Sony is all about.
No, I'm not basing my console-purchase decision on launch games. I'm determining the platform I want based on games, PERIOD. I've heard so many people around here say things like "Wow... Dead Rising and Forza. Enjoy buying a console for launch titles when PS4 is pushing out their heavy-hitters in 2014." The bottom line is, like a majority of people on this forum, I'm just here for the games. That's it. It's not about brand loyalty, not about "Based Cerny" or anything like that. It's just about the games. If a launch title, Dead Rising 3 (for example), could be a game that I'm playing five years from now, would I really regret picking up the Xbox One at launch because I thought it could be something special? Not at all. (To each their own. If you're a Killzone fan, then by all means - enjoy! It's just hard for me to get excited for Shadow Fall, personally, after playing Killzone 3.)
All I'm saying is that, yes, there SHOULD BE concern surrounding the PS4. Probably not as much as I have, but still. (That's not to say that the Xbox One doesn't give me cause for concern, but at this point, I find myself worrying more about the PS4.) You're paying $399 (+$50-plus for a good chunk of you) for a console that - unless you're a Killzone fan - has seemingly little to offer for the launching price-point.
