DriveClub game director left Evolution Studios in February

seems like DriveClub is a complete disaster. no way a director will leave his project half way or before release if things were going smoothly.

This clearly isn't working out, time to scrap this DriveClub stuff and give the people what they really want on the PS4.

Rodgers left the studio in February to form indie startup Big Red Switch Games, a development studio that he says is working on "some cool game concepts".

Nice! Leaving the burden of AAA game development behind and joining the prosperous Indiegame-Market is a great move! ^_^

Naughty Dog, SSM, Evolution, GG:C, SCEL. For a console selling well and studios that do well I did not expect this shitstorm.

It's not like the studios are shutting down. That would be cause for true concern, IMO.

These studios are being trimmed, likely new hiring will start soon (if not already). Teams change, personnel shift around, this isn't new in the business world. Sure, people like Stig (SSM) and Amy (ND) are flashy news stories, likely with a lot more moving parts going on than the general public will ever know, but I definitely don't get the impression that the "sky is falling"... not yet, at least. :p

So he left in Feb and they are just reporting this now?
Gotta compound the bad news with more bad news!

Or more likely is they did some Googling on the back of the lay offs and noticed he had left but no site had picked up on it.

I already knew this info, so nothing new for me and I didn't cry about it at the time, but when it comes off the back of news, even though this pre-dates it, of lay offs at the studio it does make you go 'hmmmm'.

Maybe he knew it was coming and got out the better way, or he left because he got annoyed with changes that were required from the up-abovers when it got delayed etc and disagreed with new direction, orrrr the game is done, majority of what he is needed for it done time to pack it up and live stress-free as an indie?

Sony really needs to come out and speak up about certain things. Honestly the only news we've been getting is layoffs and people leaving.

Sony has been slow on the OS updates compared to their competition and it seems they are waiting until E3 for anything.

So now there's two new smaller game studios called Big Red Switch (where this guy went to) and Big Red Button (the people making the new Sonic game). That's not gonna get confusing or anything.

Now i wouldn't be surprised if they went "back to the drawing board" in the literal sense. The complete radio silence from November through March was a serious red flag. I was hyped for this game, but now i'm not even sure what to think.
