That's cool. I DLed all the free stuff but wasn't sure if the SP covered all the paid content and there is A LOT of paid content.

The wheel integration is nothing to write home about. It's not BAD, it's about as playable as with a controller, but it's also not good. You can see that not too much effort went into it. Worst FFB I felt in a title from this-gen. But I guess, I should be happy this game has playable FFB-wheel support at all ...compared to some other prestigious games lately.
I don't think the frame rate really detracts from the immense sense of speed. Hell, neither do the GIF's of it. I don't think I've personally played a grounded racer that had a better sense of speed. At times it almost feels like Wipeout but in a car.

I don't connect 'sense of speed' with framerate at all. Like, not even a little bit.
NFS HP is 30 fps [at least on consoles, where I played it], and it had a fantastic sense of speed. Sure, 60fps games do too (wipeout, etc) but... yeah, it's not remotely required.
DriveClub definitely has a very nice sense of speed for me.
Eh.. are you explaining how opinions work at the same time as telling me my opinion is wrong? Slightly confusing
If you want to read opinions similar to mine you're in luck though, they make up the majority of the games reviews. http://www.metacritic.com/game/playstation-4/driveclub/critic-reviews?dist=neutral
This kinda sums it up
Gamespot 50/100
"Driveclub is ordinary menus and ordinary races, standard time trials, and a few drift events. Driveclub is bland social competition. Driveclub is the fear of risks and the embrace of the ordinary."
Not saying it's the worst game in the world, but hearing "racing game of the gen" is stretching beyond breaking point. I will agree that giant bomb were a bit harsh with their 4 out of ten. A bit.
The game was really hampered by it's terrible release (no online functionality was laughable for a game where you're meant to be in a 'club'), no weather (seriously.... after a YEAR long delay it was still unfinished).
The fact it was meant to be a console launch title is crazy in hindsight, and the massive delay for the promised ps+ edition was just the icing on the cake.
None of that really matters though, because the core game just isn't that good.
But even the tour mode feels like it's had some liquid vitality injected into its fuel tank. Driveclub had a slow, sleepy start, but the version that you can buy right now looks incredible, is enjoyable for beginners and racing veterans, and is one of the best examples of online integration yet seen. And any game that frequently has me saying 'I can't believe how good this is' has got to be doing something right. Driveclub is absolutely the best racing game on PS4, and I can't wait to see how it develops next.

Not a big fan of the interface either (very plain).
What wheel are you using?
I found the T300 RS, T3PA and TH8A combo to be amazing with the game. Granted it's the only game I've used the wheel with so maybe I'm missing something.

One man's plain is another man's simple and minimalist.

I will buy this as soon as it hits $10.
Isn't it 10 already (at least in the European christmas deals its 9.99!).
I have the T500RS and the Alcantara rim.
What other games have you tried with your excellent setup? Not really ZERO other games, right?
Edit: I'm guessing your wheel setup is PS4-only. The best FFB-wheel experience you can get on the PS4 at the moment is Project CARS with the Jack Spade FFB-tweaker files (that's MY opinion, but go ahead and ask the guys in the PC racing sims GAF thread and they would probably all tell you the same, considering that there are only a few PS4 racing games out there compared to what you can get on the PC). You can find conversion of the values here: http://pcars.oscarolim.pt/cars/ (I use the "66%" mix between classic and Seat of Pants). In April you'll be in for a treat when DiRT Rally and Assetto Corsa are coming out on consoles. Those have probably even better FFB.
People actually say it has sense of speed? Racing game running at 30fps have good sense of speed?
This game looks and sounds gorgeous that's about it. Hate the way car controls and of course racing game need min 60fps.

I've only used my wheel for driveclub and grid autosport on the PC a little bit, I should really try out some other games but getting the wheel out every other week for a few hours of driveclub pretty much scratches my driving itch. Iirc the T300 RS is what the devs "recommend", as in its the wheel they always got out for demos, so maybe they spent more time getting that wheel to work well in comparison to the T500.
Saying this my knowledge of wheels and the whole FFB thing is limited as it's the first wheel I've owned.

DC went from being an unfinished shallow racing game to one of the most fun experiences in the genre for this gen...
Still i don't blame whoever hated the game at launch, it was way to light on content, the online problems didn't help
I finished the whole main tour in not even a week i'm pretty sureLight on content? There were five regions with 6-7 tracks each. That's more tracks than many racers have. As for shallow, what actually makes it less shallow now? I dunno what else it should have offered but pure racing.

No weather didn't help the variety, then when the patch released you needed to buy the s.pass to get the Elements tour wich kinda had me mad at the time, i started loving the game only when i had the chance to buy the pass like three months ago
One man's plain is another man's simple and minimalist.
I'm a huge fan of minimalist style but I can't say that I like the interface in this game. It's simple but I don't find it clean (with the text/font playing a big role in that). That's just my opinion though -- a bit nit picky but I'm a big fan of graphic design so I probably feel stronger about this than most people.
I'm a fan of (minimalistic) graphic design as well, and I see nothing wrong with the interface.
It's currently in development and might be released later this year.Haven't they got like a watered down version of this for VR aswell?
Does GAF have a Driveclub club? If not, if I create one who's up for joining?
I have the game + season pass. The only thing that keeps it from being a true competitor to Forza and GT is the lack of upgrade parts, and a small (compared to forza) car list. Other that, the game is a blast, has some really great tracks and the graphics are the true current-gen thing.
It would be cool if there were rally events period.
Anyway, glad you're enjoying it.
How is the actual gameplay? I loved Motorstorm: Pacific Rift but, this looks like just another racer.

Clashing fonts. Just my (nit picky) opinion though.
Sense of speed is ok but the lower framerate holds it back in that department (a criticism to all 30fps racers).
