I fucking hate how being defencive in this world leads into the courtroom/jail/punishment. But when the assholes do this, they never get there, they always win.

It's so refreshing to see such a situation where the good guy wins, with no illegal (knife, gun, etc) means and makes a great escape. So good.

I'm not sure where you live but beating people with baseball bats is typically illegal in most areas (Even if these guys earned every bit of it).

But then, wouldn't it be too stereotypical to be real?

So it's a hunch?

I believe it's real. Some people are obsessive jerks like that.

The woman's behavior at the end is odd. She walks towards the guy with the camera, face down. While the driver is pointing a gun? Unlikely..

And the camera is checking out the outfits of the rednecks... all the while shots could be fired?
No way.

He's lucky they didn't get him before he got to his car. He could have been killed. You don't pull a stunt like that solo IMO...

Or...
Owner of a New York store thwarted a robbery only to take pity on the perpetrator, who claimed he could not feed his family, and gave the man $40 and a loaf of bread. A masked man wielding a bat as he entered a convenience store in Shirley, Long Island, just after midnight on May 21 and demanded money.

But when the store's owner, Mohammad Sohail, pulled out a rifle, the masked man dropped to his knees and appeared to beg for forgiveness. "He said 'I am sorry, I have no money, no job, my family is hungry,'" Sohail told the TV station. "Then I feel bad for him ... I take $40 for him." Sohail said he was not planning to press charges.

She's obviously scared, or doesn't want her face recorded because she's not in agreement with what her boyfriend is doing.

If shots were fired, they'd be under no obligation to upload the video, and they could just delete it.

Although I think a video would be the least of their concerns at that point. I believe the video is real.

From all these videos it seems like the person who provokes, usually always gets their ass kicked. START SHIT, GET SHIT SON.

It's nice to see that kind of stuff happen though.

There is 0% chance it is real. The whole thing is off.

Why would they record it?
Why does a dude in a toyota have a problem with a dude in a bmw?
Why do they sound canadian?
Why do the insults sound so forced?
Why wouldn't the bmw guy just speed away?
Why would the guy post the video? I'm pretty sure what he did was super illegal.
Why would the bmw guy lead them down a dead end road, what if the rednecks also had guns?
If the bmw guy is a city slicker, how did he know where to find a dead end road?
Why would the rednecks crack wise while there's a gun pointed at them?
Why would the rednecks not keep their eyes on the bmw guy as they're digging around in the back of the truck for weapons?

It just doesn't add up

It just doesn't add up

Because the hillbilles wanted to show their buddies how they showed that damn city slicker up.
Because, as he mentioned in the video, the BMW cut him off.
Because there are different regional accents. Perhaps they were quite north.
Because they were trying to be tough customers.
Because he was on a two lane road for the most part in uneven country, making it hazardous to speed.
Because the BMW fellow wasn't thinking clearly after being harassed by some rednecks on the road. Guns can make people reckless.
Because there was most likely a sign that said "No Outlet" or he probably planned to take them out of sight where he could threaten them with impunity.
Because they are trying to play down the situation. When you have a bat and the other guy has a gun, you agree with what he says.
Because they are confident they can take him on because he's a city slicker.

Seriously, being a cynic is good and all, and it's good to question things throughly. However, the circumstances in the video don't seem like an extremely impossible occurrence to me. Unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No.

In fact, I'll flip the question. Why go to the trouble of faking all this? Who would do this, and why?

So they just happened to be driving around in their pickup with a video camera, hoping someone fucked with them?

They started making fun of the guy way before they got cut off. They were saying shit like "we saw her back at the gas station, ay, and she was pretty ugly, ay"

They said "this is texas", so I doubt they were any farther north than texas. Unless it's fake video.

Two lane road in uneven country? It's paved and he's in a bmw roadster, he can get away from a pickup truck if he wants to.

They didn't agree with what the bmw guy said after he pulled the gun, they were still being dicks.

One of the rednecks is old and fat and the other is pretty skinny, even if the dude is a city slicker, he is clearly larger than them and could kick their asses.

They made the video for the same reason anyone makes a stupid fake video, to get attention. It clearly worked on you.

I will concede that it's possible that this video is real, in the same way it's possible to win the lottery 43 times in a row.

To be fair I was about to call you all cynics, but I did some sleuthing and came across this:

Notice the link in the top right corner of the video? This is posted on that site.

"The most popular video of ours is the BMW car chase (aka Hicks vs. Yuppies). It seems to have made its way around the net...

This video was created one afternoon by four friends with nothing better to do. We weren't trying to accomplish anything except to make a home movie that might make people laugh. We wanted to create a short video that surprised the audience at the end.

We had no idea that it would spark numerous debates about its authenticity. Quite a few people have weighed in with their opinion, some believing that it was completely fake, while others made interesting points regarding why they felt that it was real.

We loved reading all the comments, bad, good, and ugly. I can tell you that we did everything in one take, completely unscripted, with about ten minutes of planning. Alot is cut, especially near the end because we were laughing!"
It's probably fake.

So, we can stop bickering now. K thanks.
