Dune: Part Three | Official Teaser Trailer

The Oscars better do a fucking Return of the King for this series and give them all the Oscars, if Denis can stay the course and deliver another outstanding flick and close out this trilogy in a perfect manner then he needs to be recognised for it, this has been one of the best things in Sci-Fi for years, it really is a perfect flick, i can't fault it in the slightest
Come on, his Dune series, as it stands right now, is BARELY capable of being in the same room as LOTR in discussion of noteworthy film series, much less sitting at the table. While the first 2 films look pretty good, they are so emotionally hollow. Some of this is just the nature of the source material, but Lynch's Dune, for all it's issues, at least delivered a rousing emotional experience (as well as wild visuals). Hopefully this last film can salvage the mess of part 2 and wrap it up but somehow I doubt it.

It's no Anora, that's for sure

I watched the first 2 thought they were good but no desire to rewatch them. I will finish this up and hope it is a good series.

The new freemon chant is composed by Hans Zimmer and performed by Timothy Chalamet himself!

Still insane that Ludwig now has three oscars while Hans is sitting pretty at just 1. Oscars are retarded.

Just watched the Spiderman Brand New Day trailer. God it looks like garbage. AI slop is dominating the Gaming board right now, but can we bring back the marvel slop complaints? Why do their movies look like tv shows? Do they spend more than five minutes lighting a scene? At least the new Fantastic Four movie looked like a movie. This is so amateurish after seeing what Denis did with Dune 3.

I bet this movie cost like $300 million and they couldnt get a decent cinematographer. The Amazing Spiderman 2 still looks amazing. WTF happened to Sony?

I've been reading the books, I have two more left

So far the books are excellent and I loved Dune Part 1/Part 2

Part 3 is looking to be an amazing adaptation too

Was wondering if they are adapting both Dune Messiah and Children of Dune

So far Denis has said he's done after part 3 so if they did Children of Dune he wouldn't be involved, hope that changes though.

As far as I understand, he's stopping the "trilogy" with this one -- which I guess is Dune Messiah? Not sure.

It looks like there might be visions of the future or aspects of Children integrated in this movie. Villeneuve said he'd stop, but with how much money they are making I wouldn't be surprised someone else takes over for maybe 1 more movie.

One thing to keep in mind is youve read the book: absolutely no one ever cares what you think about how the movies compare, what they leave out or change, etc. This goes for all movies based off books.
I like when directors respect that movies are a different medium from books and don't try to shoehorn in stuff that don't work in them. The strength of movies is the audiovisual aspect, just as interactivity is gaming's. I also like when directors sometimes rewrite stuff to make the story their own, for example Annihilation and The Ritual.

I hope he makes Rendezvous with Rama after this.

If we are just spitballing sci-fi for the epic screen treatment, I'd go with

the well is sooooooooooooooo damned deep for stuff that fits his directing style much better than Dune, IMHO.

Spitballing and spitballing, I mentioned Rama because that was the one he was supposed to filmatize before he chose Dune 3 instead.

But yeah, those books would also be great. Though the dogs would be a real challenge to animate without them looking like goofy CGI lol.

I'm curious how Hail Mary does it, how real it feels. Hopefully will find out in 2 days!

Dune Messiah is the epilogue to Dune so I guess they are just adapting that which I'm fine with

I hope if they do adapt the rest of the books that they get Gullimore Del Toro to direct all three films. I'm not a fan of his recent output but I think him directing the next three Dune films especially if they get to God Emporer of Dune would be awesome. That's my favorite in the series so far.

The practical effects combined with CGI to bring Leto Atreides II as the God Emporer would be insane to see. Especially if they got Del Toro on board. He's one of the few I think, who would be able to pull it off

Dune Messiah Spoilers

Robert Pattinson is looking good as the villain who is a face dancer who is basically a shape shifter. I'm a big fan of the actor and can't wait to see him playing a villain

For Dune: Part Three, director Denis Villeneuve had lensmaker Atlas Lens hand-craft a custom spherical Imax lens designed specifically for the aesthetics of the sci-fi franchise.

The custom lenses were designed to capture Villeneuve's specific visual style for the Dune films, particularly the signature flares and optical characteristics typically for scenes on the desert planet Arrakis.

Atlas developed the lenses in close partnership with director Villeneuve and Dune: Part Three cinematographer Linus Sandgren.

"I envisioned lenses that could create specific optical characteristics, particularly the flares, that would be unique to this film," said Sandgren. "Atlas rose to an incredible challenge, designing and hand-crafting these IMAX lenses in remarkable time. Their team worked around the clock to bring our vision to life, and the results are truly astonishing."

Based on Sandgren and Villeneuve's vision, Atlas used "new design techniques and coating methods to cater specifically to the IMAX format.

I'm booking this in IMAX 100% as always. Denis is king of sci-fi in cinema right now.

His next movie is alledgedly Rendez-Vous with Rama? That too I can't wait to see his vision of it.

I've never read the books, so these movies are my first experiance with Dune. I got to admit, I'm bored to death of the ugly desert, was hoping they'd get off it and go someplace interesting/visually gorgeous or at least new for the third one, is it really all on the desert world again?

If I recall correctly, only from the fourth Dune book do the visuals change, but this film trilogy is only really covering the first book and it seems most of the second one. It's just Paul's arc.

Only really one of Frank Herbert's books takes place mostly off of Arakis.

The books quickly nosedive in terms of writing quality. The good world building is still there, but the dialogue is painful.

Brian Herbert's (his son) books are almost mostly off Arakis. He can write better, though still not great dialogue. His worldbuilding leaves a lot to be desired though.
