Dwayne Johnson the hardest working actor in Hollywood!

The Rock is MUCH better than Arnold ever was as an actor It's not even close...

Seriously. Far better comedic timing with no tradeoff in the beast mode appearance

Arnold has some classics under his belt that people's champ can never touch but the rock would have been better in true lies. In fact his inclusion would have negated the need for a scust-tier comedian like Tom Arnold

Only Arnold role that Dwayne couldn't pull off as well would have been the terminator

Arnold does have a greater sense of machismo though. But he also was a star at the height of that era. Different times and all that now

Dude makes fun movies and has tons of charisma, arguably the best actor to come out of WWE. Stuff like Be Cool, Pain & Gain, Walking Tall...not terrible. He can make a decent movie given the chance.

Sure he's been in a ton of shit movies, but so were JCVD, Stallone, Arnold and freakin' Segal. Segal legit sucked.

And smarts.

The guy is insanely intelligent.

That too. Again, he's one of the only really positive stories to come out of the WWE wringer.

lol at people comparing him to Arnold. Arnold is one of the greatest action stars of all time. Rock is nowhere close. He is fun to watch though.

One of my favorite actors. Love the guy. Was a fan of his in his wrestling days, and followed him ever since. Remember way back when on his first SNL appearance, knew the guy had awesome charisma and humor, loved his skit with the Ladies man Leon Phelps.

I'm trying to think how bad Arnold would be hosting SNL. I assume better than Steven Seagal but that's as far as I'm willing to go. The Rock knows how to pull off comedy and we all know comedy is tougher than drama.

Gotta agree.

A lot of it has to do with being in the wrong generation though. The 80's and 90's was the golden age of the action star. It ain't the same now. Plus we're out of ideas as it's all been done before.

Shit tier actor but I respect his hustle.

Eh...no. Guy has crazy charisma, and he's got some chops, though they do get rare usage. Pain and Gain and that movie where he played a shipping company owner trying to help his son showed some range.

sculli plz. I'm mixed on The Rock's film roles but he just put out the best SNL episode in a long time. Dude has had so much practice doing heel-work for WWF for years that his comic timing can't be touched by prime Arnold.

Man was shitting on thousands of people in a live audience weekly. Like I'd argue Arnold's funniest scenes were prolly in Jingle All the Way but that aint got squat on The Rock's heel work or comedy skits. The only way we can solve this conundrum is with sending Dwayne Johnson back in a time machine though :(

edit: should clarify I got love for arnold though. his movies in his prime were some of the GOATs for action.

I'm fascinated by this claim that he is the "hardest working" man in Hollywood, as if that is A) something that is quantifiable and B) even remotely true.

The Rock made one good action movie(The Rundown), that I don't even remember there being that much action in, 10 years ago and you guys want to compare him to Arnold?

How does never saying "No" to a part and playing roughly the same character in every film qualify you as a "hard-working" actor? Shouldn't some component of "hard work" be that you take on different and challenging roles, or perform difficult feats of acting prowess? This guy is on cruise control.

Many actors work year round. Some of them do it by starring in plays that run five or six nights a week, performing for at least a couple hours with no cuts or edits if they flub or forget a line. Do you really think that The Rock could remember an entire script and perform it in its entirity?

What do we have here, Stu?

Rest in Peace, bruh.

I'd like to see The Rock open a $120m+ original picture. Cruise's soft still tanks Johnson's best efforts. Cruise running on Cruise control is still more captivating than the Rock cooking the same old thing every barbecue.

And yeah, I still can't believe people are trying to say The Rock is the modern day equivalent of Schwarzenegger.

The Rock is the modern-day equivalent of modern-day Schwarzenegger.

Someone's mad as fuck.

I still can't believe The Rock and Tony Shaloub agreed to work on Pain & Gain. All I can figure is they didn't even know about the original story or Shaloub was in need of money.

I wouldn't say he is the hardest working. SNL and to a different extant Wrestlemania take a lot of preparation (depending on commiment ahead of time of course) but are over pretty quick. He does one job, flies first class or private across the country in little time at all and does another job. The hardest working actor or actress in holiday is likely one you don't even know because they are still busting their ass trying to get a break.

I love the Rock, but come the fuck on at comparing him to Arnold. The Rundown is his only action movie where he was the lead that is decent. Rock has gotten popular as a supporting actor. The Rock needs to lead in a fuck ton more action movies to begin talking about Arnold company.

There's always Scorpion King lolol

meh all the movies I have seen with the rock have been boring for me, he's a one dimensional character in and out of the ring.

Have more respect for thr Rock. The man worked his butt off to get noticed. From I read he's very down to earth and takes time to take pics with fans unlike other celebs. His old man gave him his Canadian manneurisms, growing up in a small town in Eastern Canada. He maintains a cordial relationship with his daughter and ex-wife and takes time to help out kids get in shape. Think he's done more than Swartznegger as he didn't marry a Kennedy to get Hollywood roles.

Once he moved away from the kids movies and embraced action again he has been on a rocket ship to the moon.

I am surprised how well his acting career has gone. I am maybe not the biggest fan of his stuff as a lead but as part of a ensemble cast he adds a lot.

Seems like he's wise enough to know his limits then. And yeah I'm sure he could remember his entire script and perform it to be honest. It's not the hardest thing to do. Especially if you do it for a living.

Uhh Scwarzenegger had immense acting talent

Come on, both are fairly limited. That's okay, not everyone needs to be the greatest actor. You just need the right roles to shine. Johnson is obviously not this generation's Schwarzenegger, but he's a very charismatic action star.

I really like the Rock. I have enjoyed most of his movies. He has this great charisma, and has good comedy timing when he needs it. Plus he's a badass and has dat action movie star look. Which we have been missing.

He's not the best actor ever, but he is not bad, like some of ya'll crazy people are saying. Good lord. You must not watch alot fo movies to think he is shit.

Fast 7 is gonna be facking awesome, maan.
