Dwayne Johnson the hardest working actor in Hollywood!

Once he moved away from the kids movies and embraced action again he has been on a rocket ship to the moon.

I am surprised how well his acting career has gone. I am maybe not the biggest fan of his stuff as a lead but as part of a ensemble cast he adds a lot.

I think he was just paying his dues. It was a 4 movie~ contact with Disney.

He isn't a very good actor, but at least he has some screen presence which you can't say about most of today's actors.

Where's the Faster love? The Rundown, Snitch and Walking Tall are pretty good too. Same with Pain & Gain.

He's a good actor and has amazing charisma and screen presence. He doesn't need to be anything else.

I love the Rundown and I really like his Hercules, but atm Vin Diesel is the bigger star of them. He has Riddick, FF, Groot and most likely another Marvel Hero..

The Rock is still missing his defining role. He was the Rock in Walking Tall, he was the Rock in FF and he was the Rock in GI Joe. All his projects are okay to good, but he is missing his one big character. All he does is like Schwarzenegger side projects..

Black Adam will be cool, but he is the villain there - I don't think Black Adam can go to Terminator heights. He still hasn't found his Cameron.

Depends on the year. It looks like Nicholas Cage has a weird ebb and flow to his career recently.

2014: 4 Nicholas Cage movies released - 1 Dwayne Johnson movie released
2013: 2 Nicholas Cage movies - 5 Dwayne Johnson movies
2012: 1 Nicholas Cage movie - 1 Dwayne Johnson movie
2011: 5 Nicholas Cage movies - 1 Dwayne Johnson movie
2010: 2 Nicholas Cage movies - 2 Dwayne Johnson movie

You measure the work an actor does by the number of films they work on? I guess those TV movie actors work harder than anyone else then.

Do "Schwarzenegger main projects" even exist anymore? Big action movies are led by ensemble casts nowadays.

Should have wrote 'prime Schwarzenegger side projects'..

Arnolds output today is getting there again, but in the beginning after his governor time he was just phoning it in. He wasn't acting so much anymore, but took each role much too lighthearted. Nothing bad in having fun, but he showed that acting is not like riding a bicycle. He took some time to get into the groove back in the day and he's taking his time now.

Things like Escape Plan had the potential to be a legendary return to form and 90s action classics, but sadly neither Stallone nor Schwarzenegger took it seriously.

I knew what you meant. I was just questioning how many of those sorts of films with those types of lead roles are being made now compared to the 80s and 90s.

I guess none. Not one higher budget action movie with just one star comes to mind at least...

Riddick and Dredd both had rather small budgets.

It's unbelievable how hard he works. For the past few years he has had multiple movies in the same calendar year, most of them making a lot of money. This year alone, he has two movies (that I know of) releasing. Then this weekend, he hosted SNL in NYC and the very next day he was in San Francisco for Wrestlemania. And now he's probably flying somewhere else to work on a movie.

Crazy to think that 20 years ago he was flat broke, now he's one of the biggest actors in the world.

Vince probably threw a big ass check at him for like 15 minutes of work, half of which was standing around. And paid for the flight, etc. Not many people are going to turn that down.
