Nice job on these vids! When's Sony's coming out?
That's another big one! The Xbox one was probably about 12 hours of editing, next up is EA, then Ubisoft, then Sony, Nintendo, and finally Square Enix. Everything is already scripted and recorded, just a case of sitting down and getting them all edited - which is pretty much all I've been doing day and night since Friday morning.
Unfortunately one of my oldest friends is having a stag do on a boat this week, so there will be a substantial gap before the series gets finished. Hoping to get EA finished and up today, but then you're looking at next Monday at the earliest before the rest start dripping in. Wanted to get all eight done for today, but at the same time I don't want to rush them.
Final aim is to put them all together as one big video once the whole thing is done, maybe cutting out the weakest jokes and putting in some new bits to help keep variation in terms of pacing. It's probably the most ambitious project I've ever attempted, and I can't say I'm surprised to find that I'm unable to keep up with my own mad deadlines.
Prefer the old style ones of him just making catty remarks
I totally get that. The shift in tone won't be for everyone, but I felt strongly that it was something I needed to do. The way I poke fun - in my mind, at least - is always in good faith, but I did find that the audience I started to attract wasn't one that I necessarily wanted - people who loved my videos because they seemed cynical, which isn't a trait I value or respect. I've also had a pretty horrendous year IRL, and that's definitely changed my outlook on everything - I'm no longer willing to add to the internet with anything that's simply more negative noise. Basically life tried to fuck me with the big stick, and now I'm an intolerable hippie-shaped prick.
Anyway! Pointless rambling done, but hopefully adds a bit of interesting context as to why things have changed this year.
