This is almost a scary level of vitriol here, relax. What's wrong if some people like games with stories, and other people like games without them? Not all games have to be the same.

I don't want to get into this whole debate again, but it boils down to combination of game developers needing external validation about their work and the massive disparity between narrative in videogames and narrative in film and literature. If you look up Jaffe's DICE talk thread, you can see my disagreements elaborated upon.
