I'm a ea play subscriber since the first day it was released.
Base EA Play includes 10 hour trials for all the new games like madden, fifa, nhl, battlefield etc...
Check his posting history.
Badmouths MS in every post.
Ouch...teaming up with EA....
I guess it makes sense as both companies are heading down the same path...
EA Access is also $30/yr.There's a difference in bad mouthing and being realistic in what your getting. EA PLAY(EA ACCESS) was $5 a month. It got your early/beta access to new games for 10 hours and mainly a backlog of older EA titles.
Not a bad deal if your into those games. Issue is minus battlefield/battlefont titles you could play a lot of those games else where or get them for cheap.
The early beta access was a bigger selling point.
This is a great value being added to gamepass.
But saying that this turns the tide or narrative of xbox magically having more "First party titles" at launch is not the truth of that narrative.
How many people are buying a xbox series S/X to play last years madden, BFV, battlefront. All dead games or games everyone who buys an xbox has already played.
Maybe for the casual player this is an amazing deal. Or to people who just consume content differently and want access to back catalog of games they want to go back to.
Still does not move the needle of why you need to buy and xbox since this is also on PC, xbox one as well.
What does MS care? They now make about $40 billion profit per year! Pretty sure Nadella can refocus a billion for the Xbox division. That's 2.5% of profits. MS typically beats their quarterly EPS target by more than that. So MS can basically fund a billion per year for Xbox and all they have to do reduce their profit buffer and still hit analyst's targets. The Xbox division must be burning money at the moment, but you won't hear me complaining
I'm pretty sure you get 10 hour free trials on their new releases. Last I checked that was the case but they didn't have this ea pro thing ole mates talking about. So you don’t get the free trials with this? Only a few old games? I initially thought it was a great deal but if this is true then not so much.
Yeah true, I also don't think it's an issue of money. Although there will be a limit, and a time on return of investment. But that's probably at least a 5 year plan. What does MS care? The shareholders care a lot. Contrary to what a lot of you morons with no understanding of how business works, just because a company is raking in cash, doesn't mean that shareholders will allow that money to get invested into money sinks. So no, MS is not just going to pour all that profit into the games division if there isn't likely to be a significant return on investment. What does MS care? Yup. MS is committing to a long term game. They wouldnt be going hard with gear, games, studios, price, xcloud at a loss if there wasn't a long term strategy of sticking around. It would be the opposite, there wouldnt even be Series S/X, and they would be winding down gaming.Yeah true, I also don't think it's an issue of money. Well I don’t like them too but I will have access to more and that’s great.I mean thats cool...but...Its EA.
EA Access is also $30/yr.
Whoever said adding EA Access was going to be a tide turner? It's a free perk for GPU.
I get it. You hate MS and think EA Access is crap because it has older games.
Yep, its EA so only a handful of good stuff in EA Access, which is why bundling it with Ultimate makes total sense.
This is great.
Great news. Next step: integrating Uplay+ into Gamepass
I see what you did there
Worth it for all the 360 Bioware games lol
Worth it for all the 360 Bioware games lol
will be interesting to see some of these older games enhanced on next gen
If they cared, they put a stop to Xbox, Nadella would be gone and MS stock wouldnt be near all time highs. The shareholders care a lot. Nobody has stated this is a turning point for Xbox calm down buddy, all I've seen is people saying that this adds heaps of value and one dude who was confused if he got new EA Games or trials. Yes we know it's not the top their ea pro play this that and whatever but it adds value to the service and will definitely have people more interested in it. I for one am keen to access the vault for some of last year's FIFA and Madden's as I don't buy them yearly, plus whatever else is there. There's a difference in bad mouthing and being realistic in what your getting. Wonder if rumors are true from jeff grub on the Mass Effect trilogy remaster? You wonder if the games in the vault get updated to the remaster version? Or compare them?
Ok, so who can explain to me this Video exactly:
The last brief moment:
This is extremely confusing to me as a consumer.
What does that mean?
That I get a Console of my choosing (Series X or S) I get Xbox Games Pass Ultimate and I pay 24.99??
Do I physically get a console if I pay 24,99 / month? If prices vary by consoles, why not explicitly name what exactly the difference is and who takes part in this?
Yes. Xbox All Access means that:
For $25 a month you get a Series S with Gamepass Ultimate
For $35 a month you get a Series X with Gamepass Ultimate
And now Gamepass Ultimate includes EA Play
All with ZERO interest. It's actually cheaper than getting the consoles and Gamepass Ultimate separately.
Microsoft said some of the EA Play games will also be available for Ultimate members to play on Android devices from the cloud at no additional cost.
Ok forget about the question I understood the concept.
However, too be honest, never heard of such a concept, never did it, this is confusing me extremely and it is actually inviting to more and more monthly subscription fees without actually having money. It's like a credit card trap and it seems very in line with the actual reality of USA working and living from paycheck to paycheck.
But Zero Interest was never the problem since base rate is already <0%...
I can get hundreds of thousands of € for 1-2% interest nowadays.
I am just not used to buying something with rates, I don't know, it's just not something that I have been grown up on.
If I want a console I buy it ..
You have never payed your phone off in monthly installments? Its the exact same thing only with Xbox All Access you actually get to save money. If you would purchase everything separately you would end up paying more. Now that its bundled you are getting a killer deal and saving money.
Series S/X - $300/$500 (One time purchase)
EA Play - $5/Monthly or $30/Yearly ($60 to $120 for 24 Months)
GamePass Ultimate plus Xcloud - $15/monthly ($360 for 24 Months)
Xbox All Access for Series S at $25 for 24 Month would come out to $625 vs. $720(GPU $360 + 60 EA Play + Series S $300)
Xbox All Access for Series X at $35 for 24 Month would come out to $840 vs. $920(GPU $360 + 60 EA Play + Series X $500)
...orWhat are you trying to say?
You can buy the console cash. And pay for Gamepass Ultimate separately (unless you have it already).
Charge it to your credit card (and pay interest over time). And pay for Gamepass Ultimate separately (unless you have it already).
Or use Xbox All Access and pay $25 or $35 a month (depending on the console you choose). No interest. This includes Gamepass Ultimate and it's cheaper than buying the console separately from Gamepass Ultimate.
It's all about choice and the choice is yours.
I love all the reactions to playing a bunch of old ass games in EA'S vault.
"Microsoft is killing it", Gamepass isn't legal.
Sure what ever floats your boat. If you want to play their games with all the MT bullshit like Battlefront 2, BFV, and last years fifa/madden.
I mean to have access at no added cost is great.
But these are all vault games. Not like your getting new stuff that will have a player base.
Player base for a lot of the older shooters are dead.
