It's an amazing coop game, and just an okay single player game. Definitely needs a remaster or a sequel. I know Boon wants to do it, but I can't figure out why they haven't done it already. Is it WB's fault?

Ed Boon likes to tease people on twitter. I hope this is true. Shaolin Monks was a fun 1 and 2 player game. The versus mode was fun too. Mutalities were something different for a Mortal Kombat game. I'll take it over Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat Special Forces.

I made the mistake of entering twitter to see this (I do have an account which I keep logged in but I don't use the platform, I just access whenever someone posts something here to check it out and see the answers). There was another tweet from a user saying "I hope they design the ladies right next time" and he posted a picture of LI Mei with this huge cleavage. There were several triggered betas complaining and telling him to watch porn or be mature and stuff like that. Sure, because playing a game where you tear limbs apart is so mature. Bunch of clowns. Not enjoying titties is one of the stupidest forms of this mindvirus, how can someone not like titties? Fuck these idiots.

Mythologies and Special Forces were horrible compared to Shaolin Monks. Bad story, horrible controls, and terrible cut scenes (Mythologies). Shaolin Monks didn't have the best story but it's Mortal Kombat. Shaolin Monks had improved controls, better gameplay, co-op and unlockables so we could have more than just Kung Lao, and Lui Kang. We even got an arcade version of Mortal Kombat II.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks was everything Midway wished MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero and MK Special Forces was. I remember reading a while back that we would see Raiden in the next Mythologies game. Glad that didn't happen.

Shaolin Monks was 3D Streets of Rage in MK style, what's not to love? Tons of finishers, unlockable characters, best intro cutscene of the series. The only thing it didn't have is versus only characters usable in the main story mode.

I am not gonna act like Shaolin Monks is one of the best games ever but considering how poor most 3D-Brawler games are (Fighting Force, Death by Degrees, Final Fight: Streetwise) it definitely sticks out as one of the better ones and is a decent game by its own merits.

Ninja Gaiden is still the best fighting game "spin-off" imo....
