I'm honestly surprised they published a review of it this month. Did they have review code or are they basing it on the junket too?
Seems to be a fairly polarising game, which is not all that surprising given it's genre. I'll definitely pick it up once it gets a bigger sale.
Itagaki debunked it in his Facebook, AFAIR. This won't be his last console game. It's his last console game basically. He'll move to mobile once Devil's Third is completed.

Nope, which is pretty jarring when you see them giving that, GZ and TPP the same score.
It's very British. Never underestimate chauvinism. Fun experience though.
It certainly has its appeal, but if you aren't big on walking simulators that revolve around piecing together a fragmented story and little else to do, it's not going to do much for you. Terrific VO performances, though.
For the record, I much preferred Dear Esther from the same devs, which is a much more atmospheric game with some genuinely unsettling Lovecraft undertones, even as it's quite a bit less interactive.
Not in my opinion. Severely lacks interactivity which hurts the game greatly for me. It makes zero use of the medium to tell it's story, and could have basically been a radio play and still got it's point across.
I'd give it an 8
Nope. I found it pretentious as fuck. But it has its moments of brilliance and it's very pretty to look at.
Destiny is "the best FPS in the universe," the cover claims. Hmmm, OK, if you say so.
Well, it's likely not the same reviewer that wrote both articles.
Unequivocally yes. Easily a 9/10 in my book.
Okay, thanx guys.I don't agree with the radio play comment at all. There were several moments when the audio and the visuals came together beautifully.
But I really enjoyed the whole experience. Pleased to see the Edge reviewer felt the same.
8 for Rocket League seems fair as well (10 in my book but different strokes for different folks).
Surprised at the score fir everybodys gone to the rapture, this something I should be getting?
Huh.. is Everybody's Gone to the Rapture THAT good?
I honestly expected a 10 for MGSV but a 9 from Edge is still absolutely fantastic.
How Bungie has rebuilt the best FPS in the universe
TPP same score as Everybody's Gone to the Rapture..
TPP same score as Everybody's Gone to the Rapture..
Zero use of the medium? It's telling a story through a way that couldn't be done in another medium since you're exploring for the most part, so I think you're being just a bit ridiculous.
Looking forward to picking up Until Dawn with all the buzz it's getting. In fact, I've been wanting for it to be good for so long now that I want to play it more than MGSV at this point.
22 pages on a Destiny expansion pack? Jeeez.
Holy shit at Devil's Third score.
You are exploring, but it is very much down a set path. There is no rooting in corners to find information. Almost all the info you learn about characters is based on their own words, or the words on others. All the locations in the game feel sterile. People's houses do not feel lived in. Items in the game feel like props not possessions. Everything feels placed, not owned.
I cannot begin to care about these people if they do not feel realistic, and the game make no effort to make these people seem real. The game is well acted, which is why I mentioned the radio play. Based solely on their voices I could care about them, as they sound like they have a good story to tell, but everything about the "game" part that surrounds it lacks an air of realism which ruined everything for me.
Starlight Reign? Is that supposed to be Satellite Reign? A 5 seems low from what I've played but whatever.
5 on Edge's scale means 'average'. Not bad. Not good. You can have quite a bit of fun with it, but it has a few big problems. If it's very derivative/not original that will hamper its score, too.
That's a third alright.
I have a subscription to Edge so I'm familiar with their scoring system.
I've played Satellite Reign and it's absolutely not an average kind of game. They're entitled to their opinion, of course.
rebuilt the best fps in the universe? It is the same shit just more accessible...
(Also an 8 for Rocket League from Edge would be a 10 in many other publication's scales)
whats a 9 or 10 from edge equivalent to in other publications?
Final console project?
I don't understand how they can give EGTR a 9 but at the same time "only" a 7 for UD.
Both are going for a story-driven experience, but imo UD is doing it a lot better and also with more options than EGTR.

Jesus.
Who knows, maybe TTP will actually end up being that good?

I agree with the cover.
The Taken King is the next big release so they need to talk about it.
Huh.. is Everybody's Gone to the Rapture THAT good?
In terms of mechanics, Destiny might actually be the best FPS in the universe.

Has any one posted details from the Destiny cover story? Is there anything new in there or is it just a rehash of the Game Informer expose?
Which others FPS do you think have better gunplay than Destiny?Hahah wow no way Gaz thats nonsense
Such hype.HYPE
Star Fox Zero - "The game references its predecessors to such an extent that it can feel underwhelming."
Hahah wow no way Gaz thats nonsense

If you're going to end with "but whatever" then don't bother starting the sentence.
