Eets: Chowdown thread (XBLA)

It really is a great game, Marsho really adds a lot of fun to the package. I haven't tried the multiplayer part of Marsho, what happens when more players sign in to play?

This game gets really annoying towards the end of the second last world, a lot of the puzzles are based on button timing and not strategy or well thought out placement of items. I've had to use show solution a few times and it still took me 15-20 goes to get it because of the randomness of Eets+explosions or projectiles (the one where you have to bounce a cart up to catch him was ****ing ridiculous).

I noticed on the leaderboard that even with a world + 5-6 stages to go, I'm already ranked 542nd. Someone on my list has about 50000 points and they are 7000th or so. It's sad this game bombed but I can see the weird ramp in difficulty putting people off.

The only reason I haven't bought this game is my backlog is huge. The demo is sitting there, waiting to be fully unlocked, but I can't justify even $10 with the pile of games still languishing in their unfinished status.

For whatever reason, this game grabbed me and didn't let go. From looking at the leaderboards, I seem to be the only one out of my friends list that really spent any time with it though.

If your the type of person that likes to make minor adjustments to shave seconds off your time then this game is for you. Expect lots of repetition and annoyances, but for those of us that like fidgeting with puzzle games like this, it's a lot of fun.

I'm suprised it didn't get a bigger following. I think there's about 11K people on the leaderboards.

The problem for me is that I bought it last year for the PC. I really couldn't justify buying it again just to play in on my 360. Great game though.

I love this game for the feeling it gives me that i'm flying by the seat of my pants. I love solving levels in really weird ways rather than a scripted "official" solution.
That being said, there are two levels in the second last world i don't like, due to the scripted solution being really dumb, and my inability to see an alternative solution. I used the show solution feature only on those 2 levels, and my reaction upon seeing the solution was "never in a hundred years would i have done that". Still, 2 levels out of 123 is a drop in the bucket. Great game, best value on XBLA.

Not only that (if they're the levels I'm thinking of) they require pinpoint accuracy with the button timing. Even once I was shown the solution, the random way Eets bounces around off explosions and the like makes it difficult to time things.

Definitely, I've been playing this on and off for a month and I'm still enjoying it. Excellent lifespan for an XBLA title.
