EGM January 2008 - Cover: Xmen Origins: Wolverine

Isn't that what we said about God Of War II????

:lol
so true.

There is no reason for Capcom not to put the next Monster Hunter on PS2 seeing how they are already making it for both Wii and PSP, might as well complete the trifecta

I would actually not consider WoW a "PC" game. I have never been, nor ever will be a PC gamer, I hate the idea and a lot of the games, yet I love WoW. I'm willing to bet that there are a LOT of console gamer who, like me, play one and only one PC game, WoW. So, I bet it's one of those games that gets a lot of cross-over in gamer types.
so basically, you make no sense at all. explains 9/10 for sonic 360!

Actually, I think we know because EGM had it as a rumor a month or two ago and then EA told us it was true. :P

no, they posted the same rumour last month and it got similar yuks because EA had announced it even before then.

There needs to be massive positive strides in their netcode for me to be even remotely interested in playing campaign with four friends.

What! You got lag when playing Gears co-op? Both Horde and Co-op was seamless for me.

I thought the issue was with matchmaking!

90% of it was fine for me, but I've definitely had issues with both Horde and Co-Op. One of the bosses in Gears 2 had me floating off some place that wouldn't even let me attack the boss :(

I'm not liking the movie games on the cover of EGM the last two months. I understand the need to appeal to more than the hardcore gamer set at the news stand but Game Informer is snagging Halo:ODST and Uncharted 2 exclusives whilst EGM is giving us word on a Watchmen downloadable game and this.

I should qualify this by saying that, for the most part, I do like the direction the magazine has moved under Milky's leadership, and I'm sure it's harder for them to get exclusives than it is for Game Informer due to circulation. I just don't care to read a feature on licensed movie spinoff games.

I really hope something comes out of that Rez spiritual sequel, as that's the most exciting rumor in the magazine since the one about SOA2, and we all know that rumor never came true :(

Good scores for Persona 4. I haven't played P3/Fes/4 yet, not too sure about the sim elements and random dungeons, but it's rare to see RPGs do so well in a mag nowadays.

- Brrrrrr next month EGM unthaws an exclusive first look at a game that's both hot and cold.
Unthaw? Did they really write "unthaw"? LOL.

Yeah very good reviews for this game, to me its looks like Bully plus the traditional stuff you have in jrpg's. Don't hear much about how good the main story is would like to know more about that, all I hear is about its sim elements and the random dungeons which I already know from Persona 3.

Any notable Wolverine details?

It's a brawler but they focused on how Ninja Gaiden fast it is, and that it's actually remarkably bloody and violent. It sounds like a Ninja Gaidenlike to me.

Thanks, this gen has been pretty sub-par where superhero games are concerned, hopefully this and Batman will be good. Raven has a good history behind them too...

If this tease turns out to be a colossal turd like the Watchmen game, the demise of EGM and the selling off of 1UP to UGO can't come soon enough. Rick Wagoner thinks that EGM is being run into the ground. On the other hand, if it's BlazBlue, while I'd welcome that, I doubt 99 percent of the gaming populace cares about an arcade fighter (sad, I know...), and Milkman having another massive weeaboo boner scares me...

Page 87 of my magazine has a Statement of Ownership, Management, and Circulation printed on my page. Is this normal? I've never seen this printed in an EGM before. It has their circulation and copies printed and stuff listed. Is this a misprint?

Yea I have that too under the Kingdom Hearts: CoM review, right?

Do you mind sharing the circulation numbers?

Total paid distribution: 622,751

Oh. The publication of this statement is required.

Please NO, I don't think Gears has anymore to give this Generation, I hope to see Gears 3 for the next xbox with out of the world graphics and evolved gameplay.

Why does Nick Suttner care so much about Hugh Jackman's "crotchal region"? Or did someone else do that brief side-interview? Good write-up, otherwise. ;)

On a more serious note: can Mielke, perhaps, take it a back a notch or two on the overall "Milkyness" of EGM? He's one of the most passionate gamers around and I appreciate what he brings to the table, but he isn't a particularly strong writer and his interview methods are an, uh, acquired taste.

Great that he can score the interviews, but his approach of "asking a question based on his understanding of the facts, then have the interviewee correct him on his false assumptions and attempt to answer" drives me nuts.

The cover is pretty ghastly, too. It's an extreme close-up of the game model, with ultra-blurry textures and even some jaggies.

It's especially surprising when compared to the quality covers of Milke's run so far.
