"Eight-pack abs: Did this man have the best body in history?"

Bullshit. He's never sent a single shiver down a girl's spine, let along ALL of them.

CM Punk has the dignity to not lower himself to doing stuff like this:

You know probably every one in this thread posting what they think is the best physique is simply their own body type in a perfected form. So narcissistic. I'm no different though. I think the ideal physique is "athletic build" - skinny enough to be able to run competitively long distances, but muscular enough to move through people. But for a straight "muscular" type I'd have to go with Bruce - that guy is cut perfectly IMO.

I know this is kinda tongue in cheek, and I feel lame responding with this - but what the the hell eh?

I only wish I could ever have a physique like Kroc! I have a physique more like homer simpson! :P

Well said. Very well said.

While I too would have to choose having his body over Arnold's (I would just feel too ridiculous otherwise), "fit" isn't really the appropriate word to describe him. I see no trace of actually working out, just eating salads and being under 30.

Guy in the OP is too short to carry that much bulk. I'd say the best body is where the amount of your muscles complement both your heights and body type. If you overbulk and you're short, you look kind of funny IMO.

A couple of the guys posted have another issue: their body fat is actually incredibly low hence their muscles being so visible. It's not healthy.

Those guys who have sub-10% body fat are only like that during competitions. It's way too hard to maintain and leaves you with little energy due to the diet that's needed to achieve it. It's not like guys like Ronnie were in Mr. Olympia mode the entire year. I bet he weighed almost 50 lbs more when he wasn't competing.

Zane, Hannibal, Lee, general gymnast (upper body anyways)...somewhere in-between is the physique I'd like to aim for. One of these days...haha

Yeah, but you have a "body type". You have a frame size and shape, and naturally put on muscle and fat differently than people with a different body type. So under that out of shape Homer you might have a Kroc, but you probably don't have a Bruce Lee - see what I'm saying? One physique isn't really better than another - each has it's strengths and weaknesses. I'm just acknowledging that what people probably think the "best" physique is the one that would be them in ideal circumstances.

Manohar Aich was a Bengali dude who has influenced by Sandow...he influenced a whole generation of Indian/Bengali body builders. Manohar won the Mr. Universe comp in 52 or something, very short though, like 5'4":

Dude is still kicking around, 100 years old:

Damn brah shoulda got on that trt.

To be fair, Ronny Coleman as police officer is some of the funniest shit I've seen. Watching him eat multiple meals in a squad car makes me question is efficacy at enforcing the law in a timely manner.

I hate what roids have become in the sport. That roid gut is just.... ugh.

I agree man. It was fine back when Arnold did it. Shit wasn't so crazy like it is now. Roid gut of peace. It's freaking gross. I think it's the insulin abuse and HGH that throws it over the top.

His body is the male ideal body women like.

I thought your body was the male ideal body women like? ; ) You're much bigger than Brad Pitt in Fight Club.

He looks emaciated during the whole movie, and has very little muscle. For some reason people have it in their heads that visible abs = muscular.

I'll never have big arms or a big chest because I mostly do calisthenics and pseudo-gymnastics exercises. I won't impress any girls with my biceps but I can impress them by doing hand-stand pushups or planche pushups.

But we don't do it for the girls...

Honestly, I've given up on dieting, and plus, I've never wanted to bulk up. I'm 6'1 and 170. I'm very lean and cut. I have a 6 pack, nice chest, and lats. My legs, eh, I have a decent ass that isn't flat, but my thighs are cut a little. I'm done lifting heavy, because there's no point if I'm not on a proper diet.

As for women, I actually do lift weights to look good when I take my shirt off and have women swoon. I'm tall, lean, and cut. But I'll admit I'm satisfy with my body since women don't like big guys.

I was eating while reading the first pages, and for a thread about fit male physiques, I was surprised how sick I felt glancing over the disproportionate meat bulges.

Much prefer the simple, sexy physique of a fashion model (like Chad White):

*erm*

This looks emaciated to you??

Excuse me?...

Pics

Excuse me?...

No, those look fine.

The picture that everyone quotes, and the only one that's been in this thread so far:

That looks emaciated.

And I'm obviously exaggerating a little. Truly emaciated would be Bale in The Machinist. Just making the point that the oft-quoted picture of Pitt is nowhere near a "muscular/athletic" look.

Well, he's pulling his arms backwards so his chest looks much flatter, but that's on a few scenes, on the rest of the movie he doesn't look emaciated, which is what you said :P

Ah you're right, I did say "whole movie". Just noticed that, my bad. I wasn't thinking while typing.

Also, his arms are way smaller in the other pic as well, dude is clearly very dehydrated for that scene.

Again, the two pics I posted are from the same movie. I know that pic is the most popular, and to me he also looks much thinner but that's partially because of the pose. On the other two pics I posted he looks much more muscular. Surely not big, but I could see that being quite the male ideal body for females...

Edit: Just read the above post. Gotcha, no problem :P And yeah, he is probably quite dehydrated in that one... :/

Damn inspiring thread to work out after.

To me personally most impressive is Bruce Lee. Such a small man. If he put on a regular shirt, you'd think "shit I could take this guy!". Then he takes it off and you're like "FUCK". Didn't he supposedly have something like only 5% body fat?

Other than that, yea Arnold's physique without looking disgustingly big, looks great.
