Enemies you feel sorry for killing?

Any and every other single player in RO2/Rising Storm. When the characters scream for their lives as they're dying/being shot at it reminds you just how terrible war really is and how little many other games seem to portray it correctly.

You mean Gaia?! She tries to off Kratos when she decides he's no longer any use, and so later on he instead kills her. The bastard deserved it!

In God of War 3, Kratos is a moron. He seeks "revenge" against Gaia when she didn't help him climb the wall because she was about to fall to her death as well. She didn't try to kill him, she just literally couldn't help him at the time. He attacks her for it later, and eventually murders her.

What a hero.

After reading some fan theories... The moment is just as tragic, but now I understand why it had to be done, and it wasn't just to open the path to the Old One.
Astraea lost her way and turned from healing the people of the swamp to letting them worship her and throw their lives and fortunes at her. Notice how she sits on a massive heap of gold and treasures. Notice how the Depraved masses bow to her and receive nothing in return. She's far more sympathetic than the Old Monk or Allant, but she still abused her power.

Could be the case. It still feels terrible.

Glad to see The Boss and Sif mentioned as well.

Poor rabbite!

Heavy Rain:
Drug Dealer... that picture of his daughters :\

Even though he is a RAGING lunatic and generally a dick, killing Ryan in Bioshock suuuucked.

Can't really think of anyone/thing else. If I'm killing you, and I had a choice, you probably deserved it.

E: Also forgot about GOW3. SoC as well, of course, but GoW3 was just... damn.

Waddle Dees in Kirby games. Kirby is an asshole, and HAL knows it. (Triple Deluxe spoilers)
There is a part where you re-enact the Three Little Pigs and Kirby is the big bad wolf.

Maiden Astrea in Demon's Souls

Sif in Dark Souls

Colossus 7 in Shadow of the Colossus

Shy Guys in Mario games

Bandits in The Last of Us.

TLoU was the only game that made me feel uncomfortable, weird while killing people.

I'm not sure if people got that, but I felt sorry for Allant. he's supposed to be pitiful, striving for power and ended up a pathetic goo in the stomach of the old one. killing the maiden at the end, just so you end up like him made the whole process even more depressing.

Breaks my heart, I don't even do it anymore, did it once on my first playthrough cause I wanted to kill every boss, and then again to get her tail, but not anymore, not like this.

In The Last of Us, I had a really hard time killing
the doctor/surgeon at the end. Some may not consider them 'enemies' but since the game made me kill him, I'll classify them as such.
. I, definitely, felt sorry for it and wish it didn't force me to.

Yes me too. I spent a few minutes just trying to find a way to avoid it.

The small mushrooms in Dark Souls

Fuck that. Those things are fairly aggressive about attacking you. If they left you alone I wouldn't touch them, but they don't

I always felt uncomfortable about killing animals in the first three Tomb Raider games. I always thought it was so fucked up that Lara goes around slaughtering endangered species by the dozens just so she can collect treasure.

It was the fluffy tail. First playthrough, I said no. Second playthrough, she went bye-bye.
Then I thought the game glitched out after I hit her.
She goes invisible

...wannabe allant? wasn't the name "true king allant"?

What a hero.

Oh, all of Kratos' problems in the series are his own fault - he arrogantly fights a superior barbarian army and loses, cowardly pledging his life to Ares if Ares saves him, he blindly follows his master's orders in murdering anyone who worships a different Olympian (killing his family in the process), and then later when Ares is dead and he's the new God of War he decides to incur the wrath of all the other gods by waging war on Greece. Literally every problem in his life - except perhaps the issues with his brother - is of his own creation.

To be fair I think you're right about Gaia; I do recall it being a choice between saving herself or helping Kratos. But I'm sure she also says "Lol fuck you I don't need you any more" or something to that effect.

Final Fantasy IV

Edge's parents are mutated into monsters by an insane scientist and the team is forced to kill them. Near the end of the battle they come to their senses, tell Edge how much they love him & how proud they are of him, and beg to be put out of their misery.

For me, the Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus. Except for the annoying little bull like one. Fuck that guy!

Some of the enemies in The Last of Us. While many of them werw hostile and trying to kill you, I still felt bad sometimes. The brutality of the kills just really made me regret having to do what I had to do to survive. I loved that, to be honest. I didn't feel like I was just mowing down goons, even when I was mowing down goons.

MGS3, one boss in particular. That boss battle goes down as one of my favorite in the entire series next to Psycho Mantis battle, and Snake and Liquid's battle in MGS4. MGS3 is a fucking masterpiece in all areas. It's been a treat being able to play it on the Vita.
