You people are assholes. Who would deny that MS has really stepped it up this gen after a bad start?
Not sure what treatments there are for delusions.
Could be all the sites trying to get clicks following each other. What's with all the yet-undeserved xbox praise articles and threads lately? Have they actually announced some games yet or is this just all conjecture?
They are already seem to be making the same mistakes as MS did at the start of this gen by focusing way too much on gimmicks such as VR and even forcing it on people (if the rumors are true) by implementing on their next console and therefore making people pay extra for something they don't want.
How's that boring?
If they earn it then that is all that matters.
So did Kinect.
There are some rumors circulating that PS5 will have VR technology somehow implemented inside the system from the start. If they keep it optional and separate then i'm good. Why would you believe Sony will force every console owner to have a VR headset? Come on man!
You know that this doesn't make any sense right?Kinect sold millions to people that never had any intention to use it for gaming on their X-Box.
And there is no way Sony "forces" VR on every PS5 customer. At best/worst (depending on your point of view), the hardware from the breakout box (or the next-gen equivalent) will be inside every PS5. The chances of that costing the consumer much of anything is basically nil.

I'll never buy another Microsoft console as long as I live. I went through three different Xboxes because of the Thompson drive shit. Then had to repair my 360 twice because of that stupid soft solder issue. Then my house got robbed and we called Microsoft support to shut down my Live account and change the password, which they outright refused to do until we threatened to complain to their manager - they said they did, but when the police recovered my 360 a few weeks later from a pawn shop, it turns out that the account had never been deactivated or had its password changed. To this day, my wife swears that the worst part of getting robbed was Microsoft Support. And now my account had a bunch of FIFA achievements sitting in it that I couldn't delete. Then with the One, they announced that it would be always online, and I'm like, "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you" and never looked back. Microsoft could be the only game console in the world, and I'll never buy another one. I'll give up games before I do that.
Nobody is denying that. Most here are feeling likePejo below.
This is how alot of us feel. What's the point to give MS credit before they actually show us any of this next-gen stuff?

One reason I'm seriously thinking about is that MS has not only been pretty good the last few years with services and listening to fans, but also in those last few years Sony has basically done nothing..... hard stance on crossplay, censorship, no BC, weird E3 2018 and n E3 2019, shitty refund policy etc.... Even something minor like MS's adaptive controller. Sony is supposed to be all about gamers with around 90 million PS4 gamers and I don't think they have put thought into unique controllers to help gamers out over 4 generations. No doubt, some awesome first party games, but nothing really else.
Maybe sites are following the trend and simply giving MS some respect for the efforts even if they totally lost the console war to PS4.

"Over the past five years, Microsoft has doggedly climbed its way out of a PR and reputation pit with items like the Xbox One X and the Adaptive Controller as well as its public support of cross-console play." (...)
Well there you have it guys, the items to dominate!
You're kidding right?

This is such a weird post. How is the Share button not a unique thing on their controller? Sony is the only console with a VR headset. It doesn't have the most games, but it probably has the most high-quality VR games of any system. And I believe Sony had crossplay before MS adopted it. PlayStation has done crossplay with PC for many years now. Their stance with crossplay with the Switch and X1 is being looked at. I believe Epic said they may be adding it to Fortnite next year.

Totally serious.
Why is it always Xbox is going to dominate when they haven't come out on top of any generation since they joined the fray? Find me an equivalent puff-piece about how Sony or Nintendo are going to do the same?
Look at it this way, why aren't there similar articles about the platform thats bossed this generation's sales since day #1, and is coming off yet another year of dominating sales? Or how about the winner of the previous generation coming up fast on everyone's heels with their own unique offering?
Sorry, but one of these "kids" is not like the others. Somehow.

Lmao.
They really need to stfu with all these projections and actually give us freaking results.

Microsoft has been in the gaming sphere for decades. But if you want to talk consoles, they have three generations and nearly 20 years under their belt. They aren't a "baby" by any stretch of the imagination.Dude, Xbox is still the baby of the 3. Of course they are going to pump it every gen. They should! It's the underdog. Who doesn't love a good underdog comeback story?
That Sony would eat the paltry cost of the components that makeup the breakout box as an investment in the VR market instead of increasing the price of the PS5 by $5-10? Makes perfect sense to me. This isn't going to be a XBO-Kinect-$100 upcharge situation.
He explicitly noted the breakout box components which only provides 3D audio processing, the social screen (un-distorting the VR image) and a means to output the image to the VR headset. Are you suggesting that the breakout box is in excess of $100?VR technology costs $5?
Ok.
It has nothing to do with bothering me.. After reading enough articles about Astroturfers though, some of it is very suspect. Its positive speculation based on MS turn around this gen. Sony's been bathed in for years for a lot less. Sorry hearing that bothers so many people =P

I wrote it in Morgan Freeman's voice though...I'm sorry but literally can not help but read this with Cartman's pouty voice in my head.
The 360 was far from the best system last gen. I'd put the Wii and PS3 ahead of it. I ended up rebuying many games on the PS3, just to move my library away from the 360, and there's maybe three or four games that I missed. And I didn't miss them that much.Face it, 360 was both the best and worst system last gen but to let that dictate your purchasing choice now is simply....misguided. Especially when Sony's support team isn't exactly winning any awards either.

Because Sony fanboys are insecure and have a really really unhealthy emotional attachment to Sony. Their identity is intertwined to Sony and they lash out at any perceived competition.

As for informing my future console purchases, I'm not sure how you decide what your future purchases will be if you aren't looking at your past purchases and learning lessons from them. I haven't had a working Microsoft console... like... ever. Seriously. It's been a parade of a half dozen consoles, each one of them broken at a hardware level. Everybody has their limit to how much shit they'll take, and Microsoft surpassed my shit limit without breaking a sweat.
