Ennio Morricone dies aged 91

Such a beautiful score.
It really elevated that film and fits perfectly with the viewers emotions-hope, grief, reverence. Truly a magnificent work. Was reading today that it was only his second Oscar nomination and he did not win. His only original score award came from Hateful Eight in 2016. Crazy to think someone that prolific only won that award once.

Yep. Ennio Morricone's award history is the only example needed to demonstrate how much of a joke the Academy is.

One last time.

Ecstasy of Gold is my favorite of his. Here is another good one:
Guns Don't Argue

Surf Version:

Ennio Morricone's secret weapon is that Surf Music and his scores translate into each other so very well. It's why the Spaghetti Western Music transcends genres for anyone who is a fan of music. It sounds as good on guitars as it does in an orchestral arrangment.

I hate when people say they're shocked to hear about a celebrity dying when they're above 80 years old. Like, nah man, that's what old people do. RIP to him, though.

When I was a vinyl junkie and hit up record stores in the late 90s, I picked up a few of his albums. True masterpieces!!!
