like fixing a crappy storyline, totally empty towns, lack of interesting dialogue and character development, repetitive enemies?

yeah I totally see it happening
 
It wasn't bad at all. It's the highest rated JRPG on 360 and, while I liked LO a bit more overall, that mostly agrees with my experience. It's sad that some vocal people on GAF expected something very different from what they got, but that doesn't make it a bad game.
 
Hopefully it'll follow Enchanted Arms PS3 and hit $20 after a month. I was going to wait for the 360 version to hit $20, but now I'll just wait for this one to bomb.

Heh, I just started playing this on the 360, weird it'd get announced now for the ps3. I'm not a huge RPG player but it's got some cool game mechanics that are probably worth checking out. The graphics are great, the music is even better.
 
Well so much for the "It'll get ported, but who knows if it'll come out of Japan" thing.

Things can change sometimes... >.>

Anyway, this is pretty good to hear. I might get it.

This game was never announced exclusive. We knew this game was coming out for the PS3 a long time ago. They even had scan and infromation in famitsu all the way back in March.

Video game journalists and JRPGs. :lol

It's actually the worst JRPG on the 360... well I guess it is debatable with Enchanted Arms. Vocal JRPG fans > Game journalist and their scores.

Enjoy Disgaea 3 and Valkyria PS3 fans and owners, skip this filth.
 
Look, my GF owns this game. I watched her play it and beat it. Trust me *SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME* Just go download 26 episodes of a really sappy badly written anime. It'll be the same effect and you'll save about a dozen hours doing it.

i have this sinking suspicion that many will desperately try to convince themselves and others that they like the game all the while knowing it's a turd in disc format.
 
Hey I played this game on the 360 for a good bit and I didn't think it was bad. I appreciate GAF letting me know what's up, I take it into consideration, and I'll brace myself. Regardless if I'm going to "suffer" for playing this rest assured someone else will be there too :lol

You don't know how much it sucks to be a regular on a anime fourm and preach how bad ES is. People just claim your the idiot and that ES is an emotional game for the smart crowd.

I die a little inside when people say this game is good.

It was the issue of Famitsu I think, which showed off the upcoming Tales games (Vesperia, DotNW, Hearts, Radiant Mythology 2). Had something with PS3 under it that was a black image with a question mark. I think it was just Famitsu speculating / wondering where a PS3 Tales title was. Since the recent Tales conference already happened, it doesn't seem like they're announcing one soon.

I'm a vocal JRPG fan. This game is significantly better than Enchanted Arms or Blue Dragon -- even before any changes/additions the PS3 version makes.

(IIRC there are quite a few others even here on GAF that enjoyed this game, including White Man. They're just not as ... enthusiastic ... about praising it as the haters are about deriding it)
 
It has a metacritic score of 79. I think the people in here hating are full of shit about this game. Of course they'll say, 'buh the reviewers don't know about jrps' which acts as a desperate attempt to justify their MINORITY opinion.

Not sure. The conference (this month) did announce Tales of Hearts and the new Radiant Mythology, and also pointed out how the Wii is getting another Tales title. But hey, July still is going on, so we might see something.

No. That famitsu article was just speculating that the next Tales would be on PS3, and be announced sometime in July. It's just a rumor at this point, so don't expect a Tales announcement for PS3 this month.
 
Help me gaf. Pretend I know nothing about this game ('cause really, I don't). So ... is the game worth getting?


I haven't played a JRPG in quite some time (many, many years actually), as I simply grew tired of incessant random battles, and forced linear leveling up to beat certain areas.


Is this a game I should consider making the jump back into JRPG’s with … or should I pass and get Persona? Neither?
