Blue Dragon: August
Eternal Sonata: September

And Enchanted Arms can't compare to Blue Dragon or Eternal Sonata :lol

There we go then.

m$ needs to get demos of Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey on US Live and pimp the hell out of them.

The audio, visuals and overall gameplay looks so ****ing sweet. Contemplating on DLing this, but really don't wanna go threw the hassle of activating a JPN account.

Wow... that looks absolutely gorgeous...

Not my type of game, plus I really don't feel like making a JPN account to get it, but it really looks gorgeous...

How do you play the "Play the session"? I keep getting an F rank....:lol

that's because the two scores don't mix right, what you have to do is find a score piece that mixs well with the other guys score piece.

The battle system seems pretty neat. You get to control where each character moves, right? You have a certain amount of time to run around, use items, attack, and do a "finisher"?

Fun demo with nice graphics.

Too much battling, though. I don't want to spend 30+ minutes leveling up characters I'm never going to see again. Had to give up before I got to the boss they talk about. Do you get to fight it, and is pushing through all the pointless fighting worth it?

Yes and yeah. It's just a tougher enemy battle, it's
a wild boar
and it takes like 15 turns or something like that to kill. It's a good fight to get your combo meter up and check out all the different attacks you get when your combo meter is maxed out.

now that i've played it, the graphics are not all that....lovely style and all but its very static, the Sound and the gameplay are pretty standard by the genre as well.

still its fun and I will take a closer look at it come the end of the year.

The battle system is pretty interesting but the camera could be better. Some kind of manual control would be nice or maybe I missed it.

The graphics are gorgeous. Walking through the town with those lush visuals and that music in the background was so relaxing :)

Just tried it. Won't go into my rant about how JRPGs desperately need evolution and whatnot, but beyond that, I'm not a fan of the way the game works camera/view wise. I hate no being able to adjust the camera the way I want it, and having to "trust" the developers to know exactly what I want/need to see at any moment. I also don't like the invisible barriers that were mentioned before: when I got to the flower field, I wanted to run off into the distance and over the hill. I guess playing games like WoW just does that.

Combat isn't bad, and the idea of letting you do whatever you can within a certain time limit is interesting, but again, really disliked the camera. It was either "can't see the enemies until you move" angle or "way too zoomed out" angle. (I know, there's a third angle, but it's even more useless.) Seems like you're going to have to do a lot of camera switching while in battle, which isn't a good thing. (Why can't I use the right analog stick to look around and get a beat on where the enemies are without doing a hard camera switch?)

I'd like to play it at some point, but I'm not exactly dying to pick it up. It is very pretty, but the effect is kind of ruined when I can't look around to appreciate all of the lovely graphics.

Okay, I've played through the demo twice completely now. Here are some random thoughts:

- No loading YAY!!!!!
- Sakuraba's score is really low key compared to the BK series, while not being as generic as his Tales compositions.
- Art is great, lighting is nice.
- As far as the demo goes, the dungeon and town do feel much more linear than Blue Dragon. Hopefully it opens up in the full game.
- Battle system is fun but VERY abusable. The first time I found the game kinda hard by playing it "normally" but once I figured out which skills to spam and abuse I could beat the entire demo and every single fight without giving the enemy a single turn. :lol
- Camera kinda sucks in battles but they give you a few options and it usually works out.

Wow, I'd never heard anything about this game and just gave it a try. It's VERY impressive: the graphics are absolutely amazing, the music is soothing and driving, and the battle system is pretty neat.

I'm really interested in this title now!

Thanks for the info on setting up a JPN Live account. Worked like a champ. :)

The art in this game is fantastic, and I like the way the battles work. The boar took me to school and tears were shed. All in all, I'll definitely be picking this one up come September. :D

The cutesy 8-year old hero designs made me cringe but it was great playing a real RPG on the 360. Graphics look good but not all that amazing that it could not be done of the PS2. Hell it has that vibrancy of a Gamecube game to be honest. The battle system in which you can attack monsters until the gauge ran down was pretty neat. Its now on my radar.

Why the ****ing **** is this in English but not on the North American or European marketplace? One of the few things that would get me to put down Pokemon >=(

Because it's only coming out in the US in September maybe? It's coming out in Japan next month, so a demo now makes sense!

I'm gonna have to download it when I get home because right now it does nothing for me...it just seems so antiquated for a modern RPG...fixed camera, cutesy bug-eyed charecters, ugh. Hopefully its fun to play.

I'm pretty critical of turn-based RPGs, but this demo was very fun.

One question, is there any way to change the camera outside of battle? The NPCs and environments look great, but they are so small. I was hoping you could switch to a first person perspective to see all the detail that went into them.

When you beat the demo it says "Eternal Sonata coming September 2007", so I'm assuming that this will hit the US market place soon.

That boxart they show is LOL. Looks more like a Strawberry Shortcake game for toddlers than a JRPG. I hope they change it.

Time to activate a Japanese account!

But man, September? Culcept Saga October? Mass Effect September too? These were all scheduled for the summer. I know I'm wrong, but it's almost like MS wants Blue Dragon to come out first...or something...because Culdcept Saga is complete and Eternal Sonata must be or really close to it.

But but, Trusty Bell is still Summer for me!

WOW! This game is absolutely gorgeous. And the battle system is so freaking awesome, not to mention, no random encounters. Music is perfect. Art style is through the roog. My jaw literally dopped when the game came on. Pictures can't do this game justice.

Thanks for the link to creating the Japanese account guys. It really was a breeze.

I still can't believe I am playing Eternal Sonata. Holy crap. I can't wait until September.

+ Everything....except
- no camera control...will have to get used to it, but it's even more painfull when you have a 3D game that looks this gorgeous. I just want to rotate it and can't, damn it!

im going to preorder this game right away, the demo was awesome, the combat reminds me of a mix between Grandia and the Tales of games, and both of those are some of my favorite combat systems in RPGs.

Sounds like great impressions from those who played the demo so far. I'm so jealous right now... Looks like it's going to be a great year for RPG's on 360-and it's about time.
