Kid looks like he'll fall over coughing up blood any moment now.

I actually hate his design. I wish they went with something more traditional but kept the purple eyes.

It reeks of, "We need something to remind the audience that this is a sequel".

I guess I'll keep an eye out for this. My dad even hot hooked into the last 20 or so episodes of the original, when it was airing on Adult Swim.

Apparently the original series is on crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed, just a fyi if it hasn't been mentioned already and people wanna check it out before the sequel airs.

Totally going to check the original out after my Gundam marathon for more mecha action.

That's the original Eureka Seven. This thread is about the sequel, Eureka Seven Ao.

Oh, I know, that's what I meant just in case people wanted to check out the original series before the sequel. I'll edit it to make it clearer.

I wonder if the sequel will end up on crunchyroll, though.

At least in the promotional material it isn't, but I guess you got a point. Bones can (and will) fuck up.
I'm sure at some point we said the same thing about Star Driver... looooool.
People were too hyped about the "OH MY GOD IT'S UTENA 2.0" fallacy to be bothered about the mecha designs.

Manga version's first chapter is out on Mangastream/Mangafox already, if anyone's interested.

Seems decent thus far. And
yeah, Eureka is definitely Ao's mother.

Then why does he have a different last name? Unless Renton isn't the father. D:
One of my favourite series ever is getting a sequel ? Let's get HYPED and listen to ES OSTover and over again !
Look at the previous page. Things are not looking so great. :\

Dunno, but when he flashbacks to his memories of his mom
it's totally Eureka. That or Eureka got cloned, LOL.
Well, since he looks so much like Eureka, obviously her genes are very dominant, so perhaps his mom is a descendant of Eureka's.
Wait, why am I trying to apply logic to this? *laughs*

remember the art that had.a.blue haired.girl and a brown haired boy with wings which were most likely renton and eurekas kids?

Manga spoiler
Notice how Ao's mother lacks wings

That doesn't look too bad. I thought Trapar waves disappeared because of the ending of the anime? Perhaps I'm misremembering.

I see you missed all the story updates about this. It takes place on Earth in 2025 AD, on an island in Okinawa, Japan. But somehow, the producer also says that Ao is the son of Renton and Eureka. Meanwhile the director muses about how "in any world where there is a Renton and Eureka, a story called Eureka Seven can be told".

Draw your own conclusions.

Yeah I noticed that when I read the first volume of the manga. Is it really so hard to build on the goddamn world they already created? Really? I mean they can have their stupid shounen adventure set in the same world as the original Eureka can't they? That's how the original started out ffs.

I didn't put much thought into the date. The director is crazy, but I already knew that.

No its a sequel.

I think people are getting tripped up about the date. Its most likely set 20 years after the first series I think.

The show itself looks okay. Not wild about the music, is it going to be the intro song?
Yeah

But the actual music for the show is going to be done by Kouji Nakamura. He was the singer/guitarist/writer for Supercar, the band that did the song Storywriter that was featured in the first series.

Better look at new Nirvash:

"Hero" colors:

and what Im guessing is the Military color scheme (just like in the first series)

Eureka Seven did not take place during the 2000s, unless AD stands for something totally different and the director is fucking with us.

The first series was set in 2005, though technically 12005, IIRC

Or maybe its set 2025 years after the end of the first series and AD simply stands for something else, lol. The tech shown in the trailer does seem too advanced compared to the first series to only be 20 years later...

I dunno, I guess doesn't make much sense so far, lol

Regardless, it can't be the same world/universe if Trapar waves still exist.

I don't think an exact date was ever stated in the original but it's years after humanity was forced to leave earth. There was no Japan in the original world. They didn't even know it was earth until close to the end of the series. So in the span of this assumed 20 years after your fabricated date the original was set in we are to assume a Japan that existed exactly as it did on earth thousands of years ago, before the scub coral infection, has been established? There's no way it can be a direct sequel set in the same universe unless a lot of liberty is taken with the story.

I don't have the original series anywhere in my vicinity right now so someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but the epilogue (with Renton's grandpa and kids) featured a datę several thousand years higher than the rest of the series, which I always thought was meant to be the date of the series in Gregorian Calendar
