Eurogamer re-reviews Resistance

I think it's fair to provide readers with a review of exactly the version they are buying

There is only one Resistance disc. Every disc is the same disc in every region. There is not a seperate PAL version.

I actually don't consider it wrong/weird/absurd that a PAL region would re-review a game (read the spoiler). It makes sense to me.

I see, it just may be a relict from PAL 50 days. Still, the context is different and we don't exactly complain that EGM has 3 people reviewing games either.

Nice smarmyness Mr. Defensive.

What is it that you enter at the end of the game? You enter a giant enemy hive made out of ships or alien tecnology buildings or whatever the hell it is. You knew what I was talking about.

Don't try to dismiss my comments as if I don't own the game and finished it. I just don't like it as much as you apparently do.

The fact that you use the term ship to describe a tower which the games mentions it is a tower on numerous occasions kind of shows you are a little ignorant like the euro gamer review who mentions a gun in multiplayer which actually doesn't exist. You can hate the game that's fine but when you mention things that are not true it kind of makes your opinion of the dame laughable.

I think that would have been fair too.
:lol

Oh well. I think we're cool...
Queue to have Insomniac's babies over here. Stripey green troll tents just up at the back.

Ladies & Gents, watch Resistance about to have a LARGE ONE in PAL territories, despite this particularly ill-informed EuroPlonker's efforts...
That should warm you all up nicely for R&C TOD, by which time there may be news of Resistance 2 - which could turn out to be an absolute monster... what do you reckon?

*slams down empty glass of lemonade*

i've always been on the "each reviewer is different and reviews are totally pointless anyways" but - i'm with Kaching on this one - so i'm just going to repost what he said :

Yes, let's just let reviewers at professional game sites off the hook when they get several things outright wrong about games because they're too busy constructing strawman arguments to justify whatever score they personally settled on for the game.

like i say - i don't mind reviews that give games i like really crap scores, but when details in the article just aren't right, then you've basically got to wonder.

Hailstorm online? Looks like the guy didn't even touch the online portion and flat out lied about it. :lol

"And while we're on this, why is the radio communication so sophisticated? In 2007 I can't even use my mobile phone on the underground trains, so how, exactly, is Hale able to get updates when he's deep underground?"

I generally like eurogamer's reviews, but this is just sad...

You, are, playing, a ****ING GAME WITH ALIENS AND SPACE SHIPS AND LASER GUNS AND YOU ARE WONDERING AND BITCHING ABOUT THE ****ING RADIO RECEPTION!!?!?!?!?

Sad, sad, sad day in gaming. I think baby Jesus just pooped a little when he read that review.

Also on team Eurogamer. I bought it at launch, and I just wasn't impressed. At all. It's a 6/10 for me at best.

In order to be on team Eurogamer on this, you have to add some factually incorrect points to your assessment of the game.

Did anyone bother writing Eurogamer about this? I'm tempted to do so, because this is ridiculous. I hadn't even seen the Hailstorm blooper.

Wow. Not even the little breaky glass bits? :( Did you return it to the store?

Hmmm, seems the rest of Europe is not quite as densely populated with smug "I'm going to try too hard to be clever not like everyone else" types as good old Blighty...

They do appreciate their 'guter Technik' over there...
I'm still getting rid of my Merc though, it's just not innovative enough.

It amazes me more people don't become "outraged" when reviews are proven to be system war agenda-filled rubbish but I guess corporate allegiance is more important than principels.

Where would they have been able to find a 40 player game in Europe? RFoM uses country-sectioned servers and the PS3 hasn't been released in Europe yet. Not really their fault that RFoM doesn't support international servers.

Non-reading comprehension FTL.

Dude, that was the whole point of my post: since there weren't enough people to play a 40 player map, how in the hell can they get off doing a review of the multiplayer portion with only 16 players?! They didn't even get the chance to realize how different the game is with 40 people instead of with 16!!

Wait did they had the hailstorm to the online mode in the latest patch? I haven't played it recently but the hailstorm has never been in one game I have played in, ever.
