Eurogamer: SNES Mini currently in development

It better fucking look like the SNES redesign that nobody bought because it released so late.

Tell me you don't want this cool-looking shit.

Can't wait for the US to get that purple monster again while we get the superior PAL/NTSC-J design.
Enjoy your dumb concave buttons suckers!

oh fuck I need this.

required games;

link to the past
mario world
yoshi's island
super metroid
super castlevania 4
final fantasy 4 and 6
earthbound
mario kart
f-zero

I could always own another form of DKC2, I allowed the NES classic to pass me by but this one, boy you better not fudge it Nintendo, I will devour this.....as long as you ensure to give PAL regions to rightful coloured buttons instead of that lilac and grey blandness.

A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Super Mario World and Mario Kart is all I want. If I can get Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI, Mega Man X and Street Fighter II in addition to those games I'll be so happy there'll be no end to it.

After the poor experience with the NES: Classic, I don't think I even want this. They can produce this, but not continue the NES? Ok, Nintendo.

I guess Nintendo has to make sure scalpers get a comfortable living.

I'll never understand you guys : All the complain about Nes that stop production and it was impossible to get a second controller. One of the worst production distribution i ever saw.

Hooooo a Snes mini, i'll get day one....

this is ridiculous, sorry but you forget thing way too fast...

Maybe USA/North America will be able to pre order this time?
Europe and Japan got to pre order and I was jelly af

This thing is gonna sell out instantly due to the nes classic hype
Snes though ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hype hype hype

Yeah, Nintendo should be criticized for this.

It's a mini console... Not your marriage or relationship with your parents.

Took the words right out of my mouth. You're missing Earthbound though.

And hey, everyone, how about a little less shit posting, yeah?

If there are many JRPGs preloaded I think I'm gonna buy this one.
Of course it would be better to preorder immediately given how Nintendo has handled the Nes mini.

Given Nintendo's track record of manufactured scarcity, I will refuse to buy this out of moral objection. I don't even know if the NES mini got a retail release in Australia; I never saw one in store.

In an unrelated note, Raspberry Pi boards are cheap and plentiful...

Captain Obvious here with the spoilers:

Yes, it's coming.
No, you won't find one.
Yes, it'll be discontinued too soon.
No, you won't find one before that.

This is exactly my train of thought where in 30 seconds I decided I want this and went to 'don't care'.

I mean the SNES is my favorite console of all time, so no brainer there. But why discontinue the NES when there are so many games you couldn't play on SNES? Ideally you would think Nintendo wanted players to purchase both.

Last time there were two versions, NES mini and Famicom mini. This time there'll most likely be three cosmetic versions, NA SNES mini, PAL SNES mini, and Super Famicom mini.

The point was that they wanted an NES classic and couldn't get it. The implication being that they'll want an SNES classic and perhaps not be able to get one as well.

Japan, Europe, Australia will have the superior SNES console. Unlike that filthy trash puke in my mouth American SNES console.

This kind of explains why Nintendo may discontinue the NES Classic to focus on the SNES Classic but not really. I don't see why they can't have both.

I think it's fair to say Nintendo underestimated the demand for the NES Classic, so it makes me wonder how they will approach the SNES Classic to be be better prepared for meeting the demand or if they care to actually meet demand. It's possible they would have done a lot of things differently if they knew it can be an ongoing product; in the design and in the production. After all, it seems like it's exponentially more popular than similar plug-and-play consoles, so I could see how they might have approached it to be similar.

If they take a new, more prepared approach to the SNES Classic, I don't see why they wouldn't eventually do a NES Classic re-release since they have a successful brand and I don't think a N64 Classic would be as successful as the NES and SNES, so being able to address those 2 with a more efficient and effective pipeline seems like a better approach than having it be a one-off limited run forever when they are still leaving money on the table.

I wan´t the classic PAL/JP looking SNES.

Bigger question though - SHOULD THERE BE A "FAKE" CARTRIDGE IN IT?

Seriously. The NES swallowed its games, but a SNES without a game in it looks wrong.

Surprised that there aren't people asking for Assault Suits Valken on this beauty. Hopefully there's a high chance of it appearing after it popped up on the Wii U VC.
