RULES

Added rules after MP session 2:

1. If you consistently cause the game to drop below speed 2, you will be kicked for the duration of the session.

2. Maximizing the ticking war score means that the losing side must automatically meet the demands of the winning side. Achieving an overall war score of 80% also means the losing side must automatically meet the demands of the winning side. Peace demands can not exceed 100% war score. People can't be forced to peace out separately in a PvP war, to avoid peace demands from being truly excessive. Similarly, don't circumvent the war score cap by declaring multiple wars as a single alliance. If you do this, the total demands can't be more than 100%. If non-aligned human players both attack another human player, this obviously does not apply.

3. Players may not have more than guarantee, ally, or be guaranteed by more than 1 other player nation prior to 1500, 2 other prior to 1600, or 3 others prior to 1750. A coalition may not have more than 3 player nations prior to 1500, 4 player nations prior to 1600, or 5 player nations prior to 1750. This rule does not count for any player controlled subjects a player might have. No enforce peace in wars involving human players on either side. Indirect involvement in wars (for instance threatening someone with an attack unless they don't engage in a war against human players) counts as an alliance for the player being helped and thus is only allowed if the player being helped does not exceed its human ally limit in this fashion.

4. Can't attack a player nation with more than 50% tech group disparity, unless through a non-subject third party. Rule expires in 1600.

5. One rejoin per session, if you crash out multiple times, wait for someone else to drop out and then you can of course also rejoin.

6. Player nations are open to attack once they miss three straight sessions, you can attack during that third session. If the AI attacks another player in his absence, they can demand up to 50% war score, but no more. If an AI playing for a human nation joins a war against a human player as a third party, up to 25% war score may be demanded from that country.

7. A general anti-exploit rule. Basically, if it looks like an exploit, then don't do it. Don't try to circumvent rules through trickery. If you're unsure if something violates this rule, ask.

8. Pausing only allowed when DoW happens to you. Then during the war it isn't acceptable. Players can pause once to make peace deals, but only for the allotted 25 seconds or so before others can unpause. PvP wars are not exempted.

9. Don't pick someone else's vassal/personal union partner. Also, don't pick Lithuania if someone has picked Poland already or vice versa.

10. No more nation switching after the first five sessions.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
That's a shame.

I think I'll wait until I get my hands on El Dorado to enter the ratings. It's only a scant two weeks before it releases anyway.

Well, fanboi did win the award for "biggest language fail" of the year in 2014.

By the way, Kab, once you're done with ratings, I'd like to see them juxtaposed with the old ratings to see how they progressed (or regressed).

Sure, still need a couple people's votes though :)

Well, we'll see if France and the Ottomans will be more funny next session for them.

How are you going to rate that massive and explosively growing Morocco low enough that he could choose either of them? :p
He made one mistake :D

So, you're going to overrate him for this game just because you're afraid of him. :p

No, I'm going to rate him for his performance for the entire game rather than exclusively for the error that caused his nations to collapse, as is the intention of the rating system :).

Anyway, still need votes from Jwitjes, Toma and Gamma. Other than that everyone has voted now.

Had a hard time rating the top three (Mgo, Jazz & Kab), you need to play a more local nation next time Kab, don't be afraid, the Europeans are lovely people really.

Let the world not forget I was an inch away from saying GG in the first game.

The one time I visited in this game they tried to kill me!

That the one where you formed gigantic Byzantium as Naples?

The key to securing a lower ranking is to tank your nation. That's what I should have done at the end.

I guess you could've annexed a bunch of nations and drove your overextension above 200% for those sweet sweet rating tanking disasters...

Oh wait, except you already succefully annexed all nearby nations.

If you keep running away from Europe at list let him play in Europe. :p

By the way, "misspelling" is... misspelled.

Why are EU4 players so bad at language?

Damn non-English culture provinces raising my local unrest!

Castille makes sense because "ille" is very common while "ile" is less so!

Crusader Kings 2 is free to play this week (though I'm sure everyone here already has it), with all the DLC, except Way of Life, at 75% off.

Also, keeping Byzantium alive is hard, but oh so worth it.

You won't believe how many weird spellings of various nations I've seen. Castille is probably the most common one.

I'm guilty of that. And it doesn't have to do with EU3, it just sounded like that to me, with double l like in French and Spanish. Castile seems more like cast isle to me.

Could we get Taungu added to the list of nations on the spreadsheet? They're a neat OPM in South-East Asia with unique ideas and a lot of room to expand. I'm considering playing them in the next game too (mostly so I can rename it Shadaloo and quote M Bison endlessly), so I'm rather interested in what rating they'd get.

Unlisted nations default to 1 or 0.

I can't imagine they'd receive a very high rating, so you're probably safe. I might play something in Tibet though if you're okay with that.

I'm pretty confident Taungu will be off-limits to no one.

I think everyone played well this session. Obviously some played better than others but no one will have anything even close to a 2 rating.

RUN, UZZY, RUN

Love to try but that schedule is brutal for GMT+10 (+11 with DST). It's like 7-9am on work days.

You could consider playing a Sunday League game? that does wonders to one's ratings too, usually
