Every PS1 game in one 2-hour video

And then 8 more on the PS2, 3 on the Gamecube and I think there was a GBA one as well.

And some of the "ports" to other systems are actually completely different games that only share the name and basic premise (For ex, Green Rogue PS1 vs PS2) .

This video reminds me, what ever happened to the Bloody Roar franchise? I use to love those games I think the last one I played was on Xbox 1

Still at "B" segment lol

This video is really solid. Dude spent 11 months producing it and you can tell the amount of works he put into. Look like he has a nice set up for his contents as well, judging from lighting, sound quality etc. However his channel is really depressing, only <1000 subscriber. Not sure why.

The myriad of different basketball games are kinda fascinating to see back-to-back-to-back.

Edit: Oh my god I miss NFL Blitz.

Edit: It's amazing how long some of the these sports games were releasing...well into the PS2's lifespan and I wouldn't be surprised if one or two lasted until the PS3 launched.

Pretty close actually

The PS2 releases lasted even longer. PES 2014 was released on it. Meaning that it released 13 years after the PS2 launched.

Over the last year or so I've spent many an hour watching these sorts of game library compilations. Always fun to reminisce. I love the more obscure stuff, like watching the entire Lynx or Master System libraries.

I was never a big fan of American Football or Basketball, but watching this video is a reminder that there used to be choices when choosing a sports game to play. Now the NFL is locked down by EA with no competition, If you want to play a MLB game, your only option is The Show on Playstation platforms. If you want to play a hockey game, your only option is the EA series.

The upside is that there are less sports games cluttering up consoles, the downside is there are less choices.

Those are like the best sports.=O

I prefer arcadey ones to realistic ones as well.

It's my Canadian upbringing that made me not really a fan of the NFL. The NBA... well I don't hate basketball... but it is not a sport that hugely interests me. I think I prefer it more as a series of video games than a sport that I would passively watch on TV. Classic NBA Jam was so fantastic. I know EA tried to reboot it a few years ago, but it still never topped the original arcade series.

Yeah me too, actually. I wish there were more arcadey sports games.

I would love another NHL Open Ice 2 on 2 Challenge.

Holy shit Ball Breakers. I always remembered playing that game but couldn't remember the name of it.

Something like that would make a great multiplayer focused indie game these days if the mechanics were a bit more fleshed out.

Came here to see if Carnage Heart was shown (it's at 19:03). It's a great AI programming game. One of the best game purchases I've ever made.

Not too be a dick but there's a spot on your shirt, video guy. You can't glance in a mirror before you record the intro?

I had no idea there were so many point & click adventure games and FMV titles on the Playstation.

Also surprised at the number of games that utilized sprites primarily.

A shame about the framerate on Re-Volt and Shadow Man.

The visual evolution between games in the same series is pretty staggering. They really pushed the hardware to some awesome places by the end.

I was actually surprised at how, uh, playable some of them looked. especially that tomb raider-esque one. sure, from those couple of seconds it's hard to tell how good it is, but compare it to all the ps2 barbie games, they seem a lot more competent.

...wait, did I just defend barbie games?

Yeah I know what you mean. I was pretty shocked as well.

I don't think it's that cut and dry. For instance, I think the first 3D Final Fantasy's are far more visually stimulating than the sprite-based graphics of previous installments (ignoring the lego block characters of VII of course). And then you've got the likes of the Crash games, Spyro the Dragon, Vagrant Story and Fear Effect which still hold up well. Good art direction can go a long way, even in an early 3D game.
I still maintain that the Crash games are one of the best looking games on the system. So good that they can possibly pass off as an early PS2 game if you smoothen some of the polygons and such.

I would like something like this for other plattforms :/ Its a fun thing to watch while doing something else.

And I love how this was cutted. Like when he shows sequels and basicly starts from the same situation with the footage

You can see the evolution of 3D graphics with this. The amount of progress made in just this one console is pretty amazing.
