Didn't he agree to take out the tripping in the Wii U/3DS game because of the backlash to Brawl and him admitting and accepting that people like to and want to play Smash competitively?.

yeah he takes it out, but he won't balance the game around competitive players. if he thinks that players that blow up at random is what the next smash needs, he will put it in there.

I really want to watch the match where Yipes got beaten by a Phoenix Wright player. That just boggles my mind. I hope somebody at least captured it on cam or something.

Funny enough Yipes has gone on record as saying that Phoenix Wright is "slept on", or something to that extent.
