:lol

Goddamn, that show could take a gag and run with it.

As well as taking about a dozen of my old classmates and giving them cameo roles.

First thing that came to mind, especially since it has a lot in common with their Nr.1 choice...

Except for the fact that it isn't a blatant rip-off of Dark City.

I don't see what makes most of those movies good as "Sci-Fi"... or even "Sci-Fi" at all. Here's the list after the filter:

23.) DOCTOR WHO (1963-1989)
22.) QUANTUM LEAP (1989-1993)
21.) FUTURAMA (1999-2003)
14.) CHILDREN OF MEN (2006)
13.) THE TERMINATOR/ TERMINATOR 2 (1984 /1991)
9.) ALIENS (1986)
6.) BRAZIL (1985)
3.) BLADE RUNNER (1982)

Fixed.

So eh, where's 2001?

And the Matrix would have deserved a spot on that list if it weren't for its horrible sequels (and even then, never the top-spot).

Sliders>>Quantum Leap
I've been watching Sliders with my girlfriend recently.

That show started out promising but flawed, and then jumped... the mother****ing.... shark... and it sucked complete ass for like 2 whole seasons.

They junk all the good characters and replace them with horrible characters no one wants to see..... :(

the episodes after Ultraman left don't exist to me, so i don't understand what you are talking about.

Shit list.

NO BABYLON 5?????????

Then again, EW list is to only to sell more issues. Isn't this also in print? Could've sworn I saw it years ago at a Borders.

So...Matrix>Terminator 2?:lol

I love the first Matrix but come on. It's not better than Terminator 2, it's not better than BRAZIL, it's not better than Children of Men, it's not better than either Alien(s). And why the **** is ET even on the list?

any of these shows have similar stories/plot like battlestar galactica or deals with space like star trek. I finished watching all 3 BSG seasons and i want to watch another good sci-fi show. Any recommendations?

thanks

BABYLON 5

no B5 am fail. no seriously, anyone who has followed the serious from head to tail (not counting the horrid spin-offs) would understand why it was such a big impact to serialized sci-fi for the TV.

well hope Lost Tales would bring some B5 luv back... but sadly without Katulas and Franklin and even Choate ... B5 just isn't what it used to be :(

is farscape good? i read something that the ending was a cliffhanger or somethign cause it didn't get picked up. Is it still worth a watch?

is babylon 5 really good though? are the production values high?

thanks

B5 had the most expensive production for the first 3 seasons at the time right?

Started off on NBC--> TNT--->Scifi? or something like that.

Babylon 5 is pretty good, if you've seen DS9, and enjoyed that you'll probably enjoy Babylon 5. Far as production values go, if you watch Star Trek series (Later season TNG and up), or the new Battlestar Galactica you will notice a drop in production values. The CGI ships and backgrounds are very obvious and doesn't quite live up to it's counterparts of the same era, but the show is still enjoyable. Makeup effects were well done, on par with other sci fi shows.

Don't really get the Quantum Leap hate. It was a very different type of Sci-Fi show. There were no central villains and there really was no ongoing storyline. Sam leaps from one place to another with no ending in sight.

Also don't get the hate for the ending, which I still think is one of TV's greates series finales. A cheesy ending with him getting home would have been lame. Finding out that he himself controls his leaps was a great way to go out. Having him then go right back to fix Al's past made for a great ending.
