Falcon BMS 4.33 Released

I saw the topic title and was hoping this was some weird Beatmania/Melee crossover thing involving Captain Falcon and a BMS file.

Does this support oculus? This would be incredible with VR and a a decent flight stick / throttle.

That's one of the top 10 focuses for the team right now. I believe they wanted to get this release out and then concentrate on external peripheral support afterwards. I don't believe it is supported currently. Only Track IR is supported.

Ah, right on. I for one can't wait for some flight sim VR action.

Oh man, I remember having Falcon 4.0 a flight stick, and that huge manual that came with it. I didn't know what to do.

So as someone who doesn't have hours to dedicate to learn everything about this game, how hard would it be for someone who isn't big into flight simulators to jump into this? How hard is it to control with mouse/keyboard? Is a game pad supported?

I remember when I got it back in the late 90's. Before this I only played Bogey Dead Six and Ace Combat for PS1!

Difficult. Keyboard is not recommended at all but you could probably get by somewhat on a game pad. This is a sim though. Think Elite Dangerous x 1000.

If you are interested at all get a flight stick, it makes all the difference in the world. There is a steep learning curve but its worth it IMO because you feel like you could sit down in a fighter jet and take off, fly, and land in real life after you learn how to do those things in the game.

Was a huge fan of falcon back in the day. Started on Amiga then moved to the PC games.
F3 was probably my favourite but 4 was incredible.
I remember F1 or 2 had expansion packs ?

my original Amiga discs didn't work so I sent them back to the dev for replacement. This was in the days when stuff was always going missing in the post.
I called them to ask if they received my faulty discs and the guy on the other end of the phone spent about 20 minutes telling me how good F2 was and how you could almost see the wheel nuts the trucks! Such passion. Loved it

obviously time moves on and haven't played a proper flight sim in years.

Well, BMS is as real as it gets, never flew a F16 but i imagine that how it feels like. You need the Falcon 4 exe on Steam though. It costs 7 bucks. But it's marvelous what they squeezed out of the original Falcon 4.

Man I just to play this back in the early-mid 2000's crazy it is still getting updated.
As far as i understand the flight model is much better than in the early releases in mid 2000. The first big release was Falcon BMS 4.32 which changed many things. Now we are in 4.35.3.
