Just wanted to share news that we just announced the Fallout 3 Survival Edition, which includes a life-size replica of the Pip-Boy 300.

The Survival Edition is available in very limited quantities and it's only available through Amazon.com. For more details, head to our website to read a diary about the Survival Edition (as well as the collector's edition) or go straight to Amazon.

Fallout 3 is the new Halo 3 :D

Seriously though, that does look pretty cool. I do want a blue and yellow jumpsuit at some point.

So, what does it include beyond the collectors?

The only thing I see extra in that picture is the clock.

Thankfully, the folks who just want that lunchbox (and bobblehead and dvd and art book :D ) can just get the "standard" collector's edition, which is 80 bucks for consoles and 70 for PC.

edit. beaten many times

That would seem to be it. From Amazon:

• The Art of Fallout 3 hardcover book of exclusive concept art and commentary
• Special DVD The Making of Fallout 3
• A fully customized metal Vault-Tec lunch box

Exclusive Survival Edition
• A Vault Boy collectors item direct from Vault-Tec
• The Art of Fallout 3 hardcover book of exclusive concept art and commentary
• Special DVD The Making of Fallout 3
• A fully customized metal Vault-Tec lunch box
• The game, Fallout 3
• A Pip-Boy 3000 collector's item painstakingly recreated for real world display as a digital clock

Will the UK see this in any form?

I really want the lunchbox too for some reason.

Pete addressed this on our blog...

Keep in mind this Suvival Edition is only through Amazon.com, and won’t be listed for any localized versions. The console versions will be NTSC only, not PAL. If you can get to Amazon.com from where you are and order the PC version, I suppose that should still work and they’d still ship it to you.

So the clock costs $50? Any chance it will be sold separately?

I totally agree with this:

You don’t want to get into having a food product into a video game product. Trust me - Pete Hines

The culprit was Metal Gear Solid 2 Japanese LE set, which came with Hershey's chocolates as a replica of military rations. If it was plastic and non-consumable, there won't be any complaints. The problem was it came with a fucking due date. In which I had no fucking choice but to consume said chocolates. I buy CE/LEs for long term gratification of being a collector (not much chance that anything which reaches my hands will show up on auction sites...). I expect to open up my CEs and appreciate the artwork and production values, not wonder wtf happened to my "rations" a decade down the road.

The clock looks neat, but I'm not yet sold on the premium attached to it. I'm tempted and I need to get creative with my budget if I want to nab 2 of these.

Yup...it's coming along nicely. I put on the prototype we have here at the office on the other day...it fit me nicely.

Is the PS3 version region locked?

I'm in the US, and getting the game on 360, but I figure that the answer might be useful for some one out there.

Also, how far in to the DC neighborhoods does the game go?

edit:

Any idea on the sizing of it/is it adjustable at all?

Jesus fucking Christ

You know I was a little dissapointed when there was no NG2 collector's edition. I kind of wanted one. And then someone pointed out that it was a GOOD thing. The regular edition is enough. And Goddamn it, they were right.

$130

WOW. Next fucking generation.

I thought GAF was filtered at Bethesda?

Amazon aren't friendly with international gamers so either yourselves or your publisher will probably need to instruct them to allow international customers.

I'm waiting for a racing game to come bundled with car insurance.

WOW....$130 for this super deluxe package deal?

No thanks...the regular Special Edition, that I've had reserved over at my Gamestop for basically a year now (if you include my original pre-order) will be fine for me. I only care about the bobble-head and lunch-box any way...

This. And: will the game be region free?

$50 for a novelty alarm clock.

Get fucking real... See all those Halo cat helmets all over the place that no one bought?

Survival Edition as in I wouldn't be able to pay rent for the month after buying this.

Way too rich for my blood.

It's gotten to the point where I can't justify limited editions anymore. If this was the same price as the regular limited, I'd jump on it, but $130? No way.

The Collector's Edition being such a relative deal makes this Survival Edition seem even more like a rip-off.

I agree.

If therewere only the regular and survival editions, I'd go for survival without question, but the $50 only for a clock that probably won't fit me doesn't add up.

How can one make a survival kit without a t-shirt and water bottle? How am one to survive the lethal scorching sun without body protection and portable water?

epic fail

DO WANT!!!
Can we order it off the American? My life will not be complete without that clock!
+

Nope.

*** We're sorry. This item can't be shipped to your selected destination. You may either change the shipping address or delete the item from your order by changing its quantity to 0 and clicking the update button below. ( See geographical restrictions.) ***

I preordered the regular CE at GS, the soundtrack sampler is cool. I agree that $50 for the clock is insane.

I'm getting the PC edition (SUPERIOR VERSION LOL) and I'll be playing it with the 360 controller (OMG WTF U RETARD) on my comfy couch (YO JUST CHILLUN).

When will this game comes out? i want to buy it for pc.......Europe date?So amazon doesnt ship the watch edition out of america? nice.....

How embarrassing.....

I will never purchase a cat helmet edition EVER! I've already made the mistake of buying the metal tin versions of games, won't do that again either.

Game collectors = Pack Rats.

The sad thing is I'll probably use the alarm clock as well as the lunch box. Unless I can fight the temptation.

I think it's a reference to some Halo edition that no one really cared about...

Nobody really cared about? Half the people at the midnight launch I was at were buying those...including myself. Mine has a number in the upper 200,000's, this may explain why they are still available.
