The switch unfortunately couldn't hold another 100k+ week, but 86k with nothing notable releasing is still damn good. Two more weeks before Pikmin 4 releases. I am hoping Pikmin 4 does really well, I love the series and hope to see it grow.

I know. Even way back the second week for mainline FFs were always much lower. Still, they are single player Role Playing Games, and for many decades FF's sales were considerably superior to Zelda's. It used to be much more popular.

I remember there was a spike the week after the showcase. Either shipments died out right after, or the interest did.

We are in Famitsu Japan thread and the quoted link is about Famitsu. Not talking about worldwide, Japan is only region with close to real numbers weekly. We also get UK weekly but not real number but just rankings so hard to really tell what overall number is in UK.

I'll only comment on numbers that are known and Japan numbers is not what I would call strong.

Spiderman was not as big as FF on PS4, but we'll have to see if it declines as much.

But that just mean that it need the right direction and it could be as popular again. It still has loads of weight tho.

There is a 50/50 chance that the Switch will surpass the Nintendo DS and become the best selling console of all time in Japan.

If the next Switch comes out in the first quarter of 2024, then It probably won't, but if Nintendo will postpone it to the second quarter, then it just might.

I think Totk is on pace to close in on 5 million copies in Japan by the beginning of next year.

Last Nintendo report showed a 50/50 split between physical and digital so, assuming said ratio, it is already at ~ 3.5 million, before the holidays' boost.
