I would say price and lack of supply before the slim are the two main causes of the lower sales in the holiday season.

They dropped the ball by not sending additional stock before the slim, but increasing the price again was a nasty move.

Also, Niche Man 2 saw an increase in sales due to the 67k yen bundle, otherwise it wouldn’t be even top 30.

To the ones complaining about PS5 performance in Japan, remember that the system launched at these prices:
Digital at 40k yen
Disc at 50k yen

Now you have the following prices:
Digital at 60k yen
Disc at 67k yen.

Unfortunately the yen fell sharply since launch
