This will be my very first time playing Fatal Frame so I'm sure I'm gonna get hit often.Honestly once you learn the pattern is difficult to get hit in this game imo. I guess years of Souls games have enhanced my skills while playing lol

Tecmo are patching the game to make encounters easy, lol.

I mean, the game is clearly unbalanced and overtuned in a bad way.
Excessively spongey and made worse with the new enrage mechanic. You'll grind a ghost down to 30%, they enrage, regen health, then you're back to square one. It doesn't feel right.I've only played the demo so far, how is it unbalanced, like enemies attack too fast for you, are sponges etc ?

The beginning is mostly ok. When you start fighting the tougher ghosts the game feels broken.Ok yeah that sounds like it sucks if enemies can regen health mid fight too. The controls and mechanics are already too slow on the player's part, even in the few fights you have in the demo area.

You Gameflying my boys at Koei Tecmo?Got my copy in the mail, demo data transferred over pretty seamlessly.
Play it in story mode and adjust Flash in the settings to High.Played an hour, went some ways beyond the intro, and to be honest I'm not really feeling this one that much. The controls and everything feel really sluggish, but this might be a console only problem and pc folks with higher frame rates wouldn't feel this.
I also ran into that problem with the enemies start regenerating and that is a pain, if this is how it is after the nerf patch I can't imagine how it was before.
You take way too much damage way too fast and the enemies take way too little damage even on higher grade film reels. The balancing still feels very off in the enemy's favor, as it stands right now.
PS the sound bites of the girls repeating together together over and over again every time you hold hands got real annoying real fast.

Yes. Higher grade film does very little damage for being a limited resource item. You burn through it quickly with little to show for it. The enemies need a nerf or the camera needs a buff. Older Fatal Frame games were never like this.the enemies take way too little damage even on higher grade film reels. The balancing still feels very off in the enemy's favor, as it stands right now.
Is that flash setting for in-game damage? I thought it was more like a visual setting about how bright the camera flashes will be.

Man, I wish the original Xbox Fatal Frame was backwards compatible with Series consoles. Would have received a res boost by default and has extra goodies/endings/costumes/first person mode that's not in the PS2 release.
Gonzito said the patch made him feel like John Wick with a camera
adamsapple only plays on EZ mode. Any friction and he's out!
I'm playing the dopey Switch 2 version that hasn't been patched yet. So I can't comment on the changes, only the 4 hours I played last night.
Nice…

I do too; however, I've been tempted to get an OG Xbox Fatal Frame 2 Disc and simply play it on my Xbox 360.Still have an OG Xbox hooked up for all the weird Japanese stuff and special editions, currently replaying FF2. I wish it would be easier to (legally) recommend the original, because it clears the remake.
relieved to hear this. loved the original, but was wondering how that was possible when playing the demo. much too much snap, run, reposition, snap, run, reposition, etc for very earliest enemies, which i had no memory of at all. how'd they even manage to fuck that up?...Excessively spongey and made worse with the new enrage mechanic. Japanese players were pissed. Yes it's in the graphics menu I think. It was there on launch day.Does anyone know if you can disable the film grain on consoles? It gave me a headache in the demo, so if you can disable it in the main game then i'll buy it.
You need to unlock a filter to get there. I think it's accessible after Chapter 4.Does anyone know how to get to this spot with the glowing item in the Osaka House ? (the first big house you visit).
It's right across the stairs you take to go to the upper level, there's another 'level' across the house from it with some shining items but there's absolutely no way to get to that part. No stairs, ladder or anything.

Use the filter that reveals things, I think the third option. Use it on the wall when you go up the back set of stairs.I have all that, I'm about to beat the game for the first time but that one area has always eluded me.

It's such a phenomenal game. I hope it sells well enough to get remakes of 1 & 3. Then we can get new games.Really enjoying my time with this. I actually turned off Film Grain as it was kind of getting in the way which I usually don't do. To me this is the first "wow" game for me from them visually speaking. I know it won't impress most but coming from 4 remastered and in some ways Maiden From Black Water this is really nice looking and sounding. The story is interesting and the atmosphere great, plus the gameplay feels rewarding, as does the exploration. I didn't enjoy RE9 sadly so this is a great relief that another old great has a newish release that is great to me.
Still early days for me, getting close to ending Chapter 3, playing on PS5 Pro. Having fun finding all the Twin Dolls. Maiden is still my favorite in the series but they're all good.
That's also in the PC version. Engine issue I guess. It's really really bad on Switch 2. Really bad.I also noted odd cases of objects in the world materializing a few meters ahead of me, which seems like it really shouldn't happen in a slow paced game with thin corridors which should be occluding most off screen stuff.
