Pretty much, yeah.
Since you clearly have zero experience in dealing with classified information, let me enlighten you a bit.
I've conducted four investigations for accidental/negligent discharge of classified data...in 2016. This stuff happens all the time, and it completely comes down to the circumstances of the event as to whether or not we do a damn thing about it. I've had people carry a backpack full of classified data outside of a SCIF environment. We bring the hammer down for that.
People sending TS data over NIPR can be a serious event, depending on who the recipients were, whether or not we can establish positive control of the distro chain, and explanation for how the data came to be on an unclassified system.
If Hillary and company were discussing TS initiatives and programs in veiled, roundabout terminology, it's fucking nothing. If Hillary was forwarding improperly marked emails that she received on her Blackberry, the originator will be investigated and may have disciplinary action. If Hillary is literally purposefully copying/pasting or typing data she knows is TS into her BB, then she should have charges.
From what we've heard on this case, we know it's not option C. So we're left with fucking nothing.
If you want to use this as a stump for a racist, misogynistic, thin-skinned, uneducated asshole to be president, be my guest. Join Trump in putting on clown shoes while you're at it.
r/s4p is hilarious right now.
Did you guys know that instead of being indicted now she'll just be impeached during her first year in office?
That's not what he was going for. He said something more like: "This does not mean there should not be consequences, but those consequences should be administrative, not criminal."
Direct quote, because your interpretation is counter to what he's saying:
Basically he's saying this kind of stuff gets you in trouble with your employer/potentially screws with security clearance, but he's talking about criminal repercussions.
In looking back at our investigations into mishandling or removal of classified information, we cannot find a case that would support bringing criminal charges on these facts. All the cases prosecuted involved some combination of: clearly intentional and willful mishandling of classified information; or vast quantities of materials exposed in such a way as to support an inference of intentional misconduct; or indications of disloyalty to the United States; or efforts to obstruct justice. We do not see those things here.
To be clear, this is not to suggest that in similar circumstances, a person who engaged in this activity would face no consequences. To the contrary, those individuals are often subject to security or administrative sanctions. But that is not what we are deciding now.
As a result, although the Department of Justice makes final decisions on matters like this, we are expressing to Justice our view that no charges are appropriate in this case.
Any regular employee would be facing termination due to this. Hillary is just too big to fail. It sucks but that's the system.
Is he even aware of what Petraeus did?
Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated. (also to posts on the previous page)
So our awesome country is basically weighing a guy who can barely contain his admiration for the white power movement, or the candidate that big money really really wants in place. Awesome.
I hope people quote that Tragicomedy post for every page. It's funny to watch people ignore it.
I'll never understand this talking point, when "big money" literally became people just to fuck with Hillarythe candidate that big money really really wants in place. Awesome.
Exactly. And that's why I'm leery to vote for her, lesser evil or not. Why should I trust someone that doesn't want to stick to FoIA?
Basically, she used her own personal email servers rather than government servers for government work. Which means the emails weren't automatically secure or entered into record, which is required by law. When she found out she shouldn't have been doing that, she did send to the government thousands of work-related emails from her server backup to be entered into the records, and then she had her IT team delete her personal emails that had been on the server (this is fine, it's done all the time by government workers). Upon studying her work emails (and the deleted emails as well), it was discovered that among the thousands of emails, a hundred or so referred to classified data, which means that classified data was on an unsecured email server, so in theory a disgruntled IT worker or a hacker could have learned classified data. Can someone briefly explain the whole Hillary email scandal?
I never actually looked into it.
Exactly. And that's why I'm leery to vote for her, lesser evil or not. Why should I trust someone that doesn't want to stick to FoIA?
Fuck getting a democratically controlled supreme court and continuing Obama's policies, right?
That you have terrible reading comprehension if that was all you got out of the evidence and what was said. What do the people who droned on and on about the emails not be classified have to say for themselves now?

cbs said:Clinton's desire for a secure "BlackBerry-like" device, like the one provided to President Barack Obama, is recounted in a series of February 2009 exchanges between high-level officials at the State Department and NSA. Clinton was sworn in as secretary the prior month, and had become "hooked" on reading and answering emails on a BlackBerry she used during the 2008 presidential race.
"We began examining options for (Secretary Clinton) with respect to secure 'BlackBerry-like' communications," wrote Donald R. Reid, the department's assistant director for security infrastructure. "The current state of the art is not too user friendly, has no infrastructure at State, and is very expensive."
Reid wrote that each time they asked the NSA what solution they had worked up to provide a mobile device to Obama, "we were politely told to shut up and color."
Resolving the issue was given such priority as to result in a face-to-face meeting between Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills, seven senior State Department staffers with five NSA security experts. According to a summary of the meeting, the request was driven by Clinton's reliance on her BlackBerry for email and keeping track of her calendar. Clinton chose not to use a laptop or desktop computer that could have provided her access to email in her office, according to the summary.
Standard smartphones are not allowed into areas designated as approved for the handling of classified information, such as the block of offices used by senior State Department officials, known by the nickname "Mahogany Row" for the quality of their paneling. Mills said that was inconvenient, because they had to leave their offices and retrieve their phones to check messages.
Mills also asked about waivers provided during the Bush administration to then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for her staff to use BlackBerrys in their secure offices. But the NSA had phased out such waivers due to security concerns.
The department's designated NSA liaison, whose name was redacted from the documents, expressed concerns about security vulnerabilities inherent with using BlackBerry devices for secure communications or in secure areas. However, the specific reasons Clinton's requests were rebuffed are being kept secret by the State Department.
The following month, in March 2009, Clinton began using private email accounts accessed through her BlackBerry to exchange messages with her top aides. The State Department has thus far released more than 52,000 pages of Clinton's work-related emails, a small percentage of which have been withheld because they contain information considered sensitive to national security.
How will people justify their Bernie tattoo now? She is getting the nomination and not going to jail.
So i guess hillary gaf is gonna act like uppity assholes all day now.How will people justify their Bernie tattoo now? She is getting the nomination and not going to jail.
There's always a 3rd option: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoQLL735QVE
At the very least, say you're voting for Gary Johnson in the polls so we can get 3 people on the debate stage.

Basically this.
I noted in another thread that many gov't agencies have a spotty history of compliance, and it only becomes a hindsight oh-shit moment when classified information is potentially involved.
Exactly. In other words, the American people have to decide if they want someone as commander in chief that has repeatedly in their career put national security at risk, even while visiting foriegn lands.
She needs consequences, the FBI Director said their should be, because what she did was absolutely disgusting and deplorable in terms of national security and transparency.
Some people would say this isn't a good show of character for a candidate. I base myself more on facts and policies than character, but it is still something that the people need to consider.
They will drone on about "extremely careless"What do the people who droned on and on about the emails not be classified have to say for themselves now?

voting for clinton, but what an embarrassment. pretty clear that if she were not named clinton, or was sec of state, she'd face serious repercussions.

They will drone on about "extremely careless"
Not s term you want linked to your presidential campaign.
Damage was done with that alone, she was never going to jail but the GOP is going to drop a couple million on ads saying "FBI thinks she is extremely careless"

I hope this means Bernie drops out. If it wasn't already apparent, this should solidify that Clinton will be the nominee. Time for him to exit and lose the secret service detail.
In a year when Brexit actually happened you still think this is a sure thing?
