Chibi Robo :(

Ape Escape 3 scores quite good. Was it EGM that scored it more in the "meh" range or was that another publication (Famitsu maybe)?

Why did they rate Battles for POP so high? Sometimes Game Informer is just all over the place. It's not really a publication I put much faith into when it comes to scores.

How is that?

This is one of those one-hit kill type of games. If you try to move around without paying attention to cover, your teammates, or where you last saw the enemy, you're dead. If you don't just peek before coming around a wall, you're dead.

It's like CoD2 on veteran but with one-hit kills from what I understand.

Wait, aren't you always arguing that opinions on games can be different?

Hi Billy. I thought the little :P face worked as some sort of built-in disclaimer. Oh well. I really don't care -- Op Flash is one of those easily hated games so I'm not surprised.

Ah. Sorry I tend to not pay any attention to that sort of thing.

Ouch. I was kinda looking forward to this too. :(

Let me get this straight: Chibi Robot is only as good as 50 Cent, Gauntlet is somehow beter than anything and their game of the month is a remake of a title that came out last year. Game Informer isn't a very trust worthy source, are they?

Only when you don't agree with them.

Well, obviously there are going to be issues with any reviewer. But I don't see GI as a publication that would convince me to buy or avoid a certain title. Does anyone put any weight in these reviews?

I find that their reviews are pretty close most the time. I mean there are times I dont agree but for the most part I trust them

Like when they gave Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door a 6.5, which is a crock of shit.

I actually agreed with that... thought it was boring and repetitive. Still doesn't make me think GI is worth my time, though.

Just a note: I did love Mario RPG and Superstar Sage. I thought M&L was fun, but nothing special and never played the first Paper Mario. After playing Thousand Year Door, I most likely never will.

mR.bOB was their any pics of MLB 2k6 360 in the issue? I heard they were gonna be realeased in the newest one.

What IS the point to Chibi? I want it but I don't even know why....
To take care of the house, make it and thr family happy. But they seem to have take it on as a chore rather than try and have some fun with the game. Either that or they really just looked at it for two seconds and just found it kiddy.

Here is IGN's preview of the game: http://cube.ign.com/articles/563/563398p1.html

According to Anoop, it's similar to Toy Commander. But I've never played that :P, just this game on my friends GCN via his freeloader.

Chibi Robo is alright but umm..it's not for everyone or even most people. In fact, at first I thought it was a really boring pointless game. But then I finally started running into some story elements and figured out how the game actually 'works' and then I had a nice time with it.

It's not a 9/10 type game by any means. But those scores are a little low. Probably closer to 7-8/10 IMO.

I actually had a lot of fun with it. It's really fun to explore the house being so small. And the nightlife of the house is great. I loved getting into the story parts of the game. Overall, I'd give it a solid 8.5 just because it put a huge grin on my face everytime I played it.

I can definately see how Game Informer wouldn't like it though. Obviously their readers wouldn't be into it.

First review for the american Touch Golf version, True Swing Golf (DS), the game that certainly _should sell / have sold better than any other golf game.

True Swing Golf a 7, eh...? Hopefully that's not what the majority of the publications think. I want this game to turn out good.

Online isn't mentioned at all in the review or second opinion. The only thing I can see is a little blurb in the information heading where it says 2 players online via PS2 online and Xbox Live.

It was EGM.

EGM's issues were that it was more of the same and the camera was awful. It had the similar things to say about Ape Escape 2.

Wait you love "superstar sage" but only thought "M&L" was fun? RIiiight....

If there is any information in the review regarding the online quality/options in the game it would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, please tell me why they gave it a low score? Details are necessary...

I thought this game was supposed to be good?

Regardless of whether this particular game is worth anything, Game Informer is crap.

Wario World: 8.5
Enter the Matrix: 8.5
Mario Party 5: 2
Paper Mario TTYD: 6.5

They even gave one of those horrible True Crime games a score over 8. They've openly admitted to giving scores that fit in with the unsuspecting targets of free Gamestop giveaways that they call their reader base. this magazine's reviews have no content, and furthermore, they don't even finish the games they review. For example, there's not even a halfway decent explanation of what Project Gotham Racing 3 entails, or Fire Emblem PoR's story. Every review could have been written after 15 minutes of playing something.

Yeah, but I think it's important to note that a lot of the above applies to nearly every magazine out there as well.

Let's just say it's the superior choice for golf game available on any console, ever made.

Not all mags are associated with a major video game retail chain like GI.

I'm confused with what you're saying here... Did you not like Mario and Luigi 2 or something? It wasn't great, but it was still a good time. I don't know how it could have been better (except for including an overworld, of course) but I guess it was just too similar to the first for me to really love it. It only took me about a week to play through it though (20 hours) so it must have done something right.

Basically, yeah. This is why you can't trust EGM to review these kind of games anymore. It has to be some huge change to the series to be good, and following the same formual that works perfectly is bad. Espcially in the second sequel ever. They stink.
